Today Dane came home and told the kids to come outside with him, they were going to help him wash his truck. Yippee I thought Ü After they got the low down on how we really wash a truck, he started the pressure washer and all the rules and teachings went out of thier heads and you see they were just excited to use the pressure washer not really excited to do the rest. After they helped dry they all ate doughnuts for breakfast outside and had a great time jsut spending time with their Dad!!!

j e L L o......... Do you remember?

OK so yesterday I was walking through walmart having a great time and i decided to go down the ice cream aisle and what was staring back at me????
One of my favorite Popsicles form my youth and the wonderful eighties. Jello Pudding pops, i loved these when I was a kid. In fact I think that the only one in the house who liked these more then me was my dad Ü
I am so excited and even thought the are shaped a little different they taste the same.
Now all they need to do is bring back the Jello Gelatin Pop then I would be fulfilled on eighties treats. I was just this excited when I found the minute maid Popsicles that are orange grape and cherry. They are the ones shaped like triangles and are wrapped in paper. Oh the memories Ü

"kIDs CAn coOK tOO.....
I was informed of this tonight as I was cooking. Brian wanted to" squeeze the skin off" and Aubrie wanted to cut something. I find this so funny because they have never asked to help before. So i put Brian on the counter and let him squeeze the skin off ( which is using my garlic press which takes all the skin off for you). He was thrilled and he was excited to stir the garlic and the onions while they cooked. Aubrie poured the sauce in the pan and stirred it. She was so excited that I heard no complaints to set the table. When she was done with that she cut the tomatoes for the salad and put the croutons on.
It was a very fun time that we all had making dinner. It was a yummy dinner to, we made Chicken Parmigiana, pasta with Alfredo sauce and salad. They can help whenever they want as long as they can stay in a room without fighting with each other.
bANgS OR nO bANGs.....
When Aubrie had her last haircut she told Margie that she did not want to cut her bangs because she wanted to grow them out. So now it has been three months and her bangs are right below her eyes. She is constantly blowing them out of her eyes and complaining about them. So I have been making her wear a headband to keep them out of her face.
We went shopping today and she asked me to get a paper bag. I said for what and her reply was "so i can put it over my head so no one can see how bad I look with my hair like this"!!
At that moment I got on the phone and made her a haircut appt. She says that it is OK because she does not like the way she looks with out bangs. Which is what I have been telling her for weeks, every time she has to wear the headband she would whine (her words as she is reading this behind my shoulder correcting me) and say it was horrible and I would explain that is what you will look like with no bangs. Today it was like a light bulb went off and she finally got it, oh this is what she would look like....
Cut them!!!!!!

Really.........
So I came home on Sunday form work and Dane had tools all over the floor and his radio blaring. He had finally decided to fix all the leaky faucets in the house (all three of them). He was just finishing my sink, he then moved on to the kids. He told me that he had to go to the store and would be right back. He took the camera and left. I thought that is weird but whatever. He actually took the picture of the faucet to make sure that he got the right one, so when I found this picture i thought I had to post it Ü
When we got home from our dinner at my moms house there was this...
A brand new faucet all installed and working. Needless to say I was hoping that he would put all the stuff back in the cabinet but I guess that one miracle in one day is my limit. For everyone who knows Dane knows that he has a lot of half done projects to finish so I think that when he gets one done is worthy of a blog post. So we will not see a lot of this posts.

Valentines Weekend......
So we started out our weekend with Dane's mom and dad coming up from Phoenix. They were nice enough to watch the kids so we could go out to dinner with some friends. We started this last year and since not very many people went to the Dunes for Presidents Weekend we all decided to go to Sushi KO. It was Emilie's idea and it was the best food that I have had in a long time, it has Hitachi tables and a great sushi menu. We all got fillet and shrimp, Dane and I ordered sushi ad rick Lisa Emilie and chuck all ordered a Lisa Lisa roll ( completely cooked shrimp and cheese roll.)
We had a great time and agreed that we should do it more often.....

The next day we spent with Dane's Mom and Dad and Robb(brother). We all ate at Cracked Egg and it was great, then the girls and Brian went shopping at good old Target. We watched Taken ( on bootleg) It was really good and we also watched Appaloosa. It was a super relaxing day.

On Sunday we went to Rick and Lisa's for a Fiesta. She made lots of food, it was the same couples from dinner on Friday. We all hung out and ate lots of yummy food... thanks Lisa!!!!
On Monday i went to work( yippee) then went to pick up the kids who had a day with grandma. I did her taxes and we went and tried a new restaurant...
Cici's pizza, it was OK the mac and cheese pizza and the salad was the highlight of dinner.

All in all it was a busy but very nice weekend of Friends and Family....

aUcKlAnD nEw zEaLaND......

So tonight we were on the way to my sisters dinner when Matthew called and said that he had gotten his papers for his mission. He wanted us to come over, I told him I was already at the restaurant but my mom changed the plans so we all headed over to see him open his letter. When we got there I asked him where he wanted to go, he said "the farthest place that I can go". Well he got what he wanted. He is going to the Auckland New Zealand Mission, it is an English speaking mission but he may have to learn Tongan or Samoan while he is there.
I am so proud of Matthew, he is the greatest kid ever. He is the best example of what a young man should be. Brian idolizes him and loves to see Matt when ever he can!!! He has always had the best personality even when he was little he would have all of us rolling, like the time he drove his mom's car (for reals) I think he was 3 or 4.
Congrats Matthew, we are coming with your mom and dad to pick you up. That is one place that Dane and I really want to go, so you might be speeding up the process Ü
