Good food and Wii games

Today I was at Albertsons buying just a few things and came home. I started unpacking my bags and in my bag was something that I did not pay for a bag of salmon fillets. I thought I am going to be so mad if I paid for this but no. I figured they were probably the guy in front of me, so I thought let have a Barbecue with FREE salmon and shrimp.
Dane wanted to cook so I called the Oteros and the Dugans and we all got together for dinner. We were all cooking and hanging out in the kitchen when I wondered what the kids were doing so I tried to sneak into Aubrie's room and it was a dance party in the room. They were having so much fun so I turned around and let them play some more!! We had a great dinner, the salmon was cooked perfectly and the YUMMYsauce that Emilie bought gave me a new taste treat with asparagus.

After dinner Rhonda had brought over their Wii controllers and the outdoor adventure game!! It was so funny watching all the kids play even Gavin got in on it. Emilie, Rhonda and I even kicked the kids out for a minute to play. We decided next fight night we are having a girl party at Rhonda's and we will all play that game while the men and kids are at my house.

Lowes Robot

Today we finally were able to go to Lowes for their Build and Grow workshop. It has been a while and the kids have missed the last couple of them. Today Brian was really excited to build a robot, Aubrie not so much. It was a difficult one (more so then most). Aubrie had a hard time and then her wood cracked and she was just done with the whole thing. Luckily Brian's was fine and he stuck all his stickers on it and headed to the desk to get his patch!!!

Family Fued and Dinner

Tonight the kids were watching TV as I was making dinner and they came across Family Fued. Dane came in just about the same time and he was proclaiming that is he the king of Family Fued. So he sat with the kids and played the family fued until dinner time. We ate dinner playing the game and laughing the whole time. It was so much fun after dinner we all went in our room and continued the fun in the room. It was a split of who was the King or Queen of Family Fued I think that I was the one who got the most but Dane says that it was him, I guess it is grounds for a rematch!!!!

Time with Uncle Robb

Since the kids are on track break Robb asked if he could take them for a couple of days!! Well of course i said yes, that means no babysitting bill and the kids will have a blast!!
He came and picked them up early on Tuesday and I picked them up on Thursday after work. They were all packed and of course we had to pack the helmets and the bikes!!
They had a great time, as always. He took them to swim, on hikes, riding bikes and they visited their favorite spot Chucky Cheese. Aubrie was thrilled because she got to cook breakfast for them. They played games and just had a great time. They always come home exhausted and talking about how much fun they had.
As Brian snuggled into bed he told me that he was so glad to be home because he really missed..... and there was a pause........ Misty. Good to know that I was second on the list only to the cat.

Today after the kids left with Robb, I found this picture on my bed!!! Brian and Aubrie have become quite the note and picture leavers. This is so cute even though I have green dots on my nose which I am not sure what that is but this is something that I will keep for ever and ever.

Fun Fun Fun

After a yummy breakfast the guys took the kids to Nellis and let them ride their toys in the dirt. I stayed home and did a whole lot of nothing!!!
When they got home we out everything away and as Dane was putting the trailer in the side yard he found a lady bug!! (There is a long story about why we love lady bugs but that is another blog in itself) Brian ran in the house to show me and Aubrie he catch. Of course we had to take a picture for Gramma.

Andrew and Evan came outside and it was scooter time once again!!! They were loving it and I was loving that they were outside with dad and Robb!

Of course since the weather was so nice Dane decided to try out his new Barbecue. Robb and him decided to make Fajitas with the deer meat. I ran to the store to get the things we needed and when I got back Robb went to work in the kitchen. He prepared everything and Dane did the cooking!!!
The kids were not to thrilled about the fajitas so they had good old hot dogs for dinner!! They had a picnic on the front porch.

After a great dinner the guys watched the fights and I thought that it was weird that the kids were being so quiet, I peeked in the room to see them all sitting on the floor playing the V Smile. I never have seen them all so tired and so quiet. They played that the whole time the fights were on and never even got loud or tattled on each other.

She loves to cook!!!

Aubrie loves to cook!! Anytime she can help in the kitchen she is there as long as it is not dishes!!
This morning since Robb stayed the night and they were going riding Aubrie and I made breakfast for everyone! Aubrie cracked all the eggs and did the toast.
I remember cooking with my mom and how i loved it!! I have great memories of baking with my Grandma and can not wait for her to be able to experiment and cook us yummy dinners!!!

More fun

After the park it is a wonder these kids had any energy left!!! But of course they did, so it was scooter time!! All the kids love riding their scooters up and down the street, having races and laughing so hard sometimes they have to stop riding!!
The kids were surprised that Uncle Robb came over!!! So it was a long day of fun.

We were enjoying the weather so much that Rhonda and I decided to have the boys watch the kids and we headed out for the store!! Always good to have some mom time and as you can see Dane was having his own fun with the kids!
After a yummy dinner the kids got us all to play Apples to Apples!! It was so much fun to play with the kids and have both understand and be able to argue their own points!!
I won the game and then we keep playing until the last person was done!! I love nights like this when we do nothing but enjoy each others company.

Lorenzi Park

After the Museum we decided to take the kids to the park since the museum is in the park!!
It is the park that I grew up playing at, it is a totally different now thanks to the wimpy moms that have ruined parks for their wimpy kids!!
They ran around and even made some new friends!! It is always exciting to play at a NEW park.
We had them race to the car and of course we took some really fun pictures before we got in the car!!!
Anything to get them really tired that was our master plan!!

State Museum

Rhonda and I have been trying to think of fun things to do with the kids when they are all off of school. So today we decided to take all of them to the State Museum. I invited Emilie and Gavin and she brought her sister in law and nephew also. We all meet at McDonald's I mean what kid adventure does not start with a yummy happy meal!!! They all ate really good and fast they were ready to go to the Museum.

We got there and we headed inside the first thing we saw was an old carriage used to transport goods in the old west!! The kids then ran into the Bat room and had fun reading and screaming into the echo cave!!!
Then we headed into the room with the fossils which the kids loved and they had an activity where the kids could make a picture of the bones!! Of course Aubrie had to do all four of them.

Then in true Las Vegas fashion we headed to the Gaming room!! Where only in Vegas could your kids pull the handle of old slot machines and play some black jack!! They really liked this room. Next it was the history of Vegas, there was some really interesting things. Rhonda and I decided that we want to come alone so we can read all the info!!

It was so much fun for us and the kids!! We have two more activities planned for spring break I am looking forward to them!

Sparky.........

Brian's teacher brought a new program to his school this year. The kids all help make a book in class and then they send the book off to the publisher and each child can buy a copy.
Brian's class wrote a book about Mrs Messerli's dog Sparky. She had brought him into class a while ago and they all wrote a page about the dog. The one page was a dog made out of a each child's hand print and the other is something they wrote about the dog!!
Brian was so excited to show us his page!!
One more reason to love his teacher!

Tule Springs

Today the kids were out of school for Presidents day. So Rhonda and I decided to take the kids to the park. One of my favorites Tule Springs, it is an old park at the edge of town. It is a really fun park the same one where Rhonda and I and the boys were attacked by ducks!!
When we got there we were surprised by how many peacocks were hanging out. They were everywhere and there was even an albino one. The kids had a really good time watching them. We then headed over to a historical part of the park that we must have missed everytime we ever went there. It was really neat to learn that the park had once been a "divorce ranch" and to read about the history of the park. Of course the cameras were there in full force to take many pictures!!!!

the kids walking like peacocks

the water well for the old houses

mailman style!!!

After we took pictures we had a picnic lunch and we decided to fed the ducks. I was a little worried but apparently they had been well fed and were really not interested in us this time!! Which was nice!!
