Lets get wet!

Of course the kids had to test out their super soakers. The kids were ready to have some fun and it was the perfect hot day to have some water fun. The boys went and asked if Paige could play and she was getting soaked in no time with the boys. Aubrie got home shortly after and ran in to get her bathing suit on so she could join in !

And what could be better then ending the day with a Popsicle !!!

A little surprise

Not knowing quite what to do with ourselves Rhonda and I decided that Target would be a good place to celebrate a little freedom!!!
I found Brian a baseball bag on clearance that he and Dane have wanted for a while and then I found a super soaker that I knew he would love. Rhonda got one for the boys all so, now they can have some water fun with some good water guns.
I found Aubrie some locker stuff that she was bummed that we had not gotten her for the first day. She wanted to get her locker all arranged before everyone else got their but now she can do it tomorrow!!

Before I knew it, it was time to go and get the kids. Rhonda had told her boys that she had a surprise for them when Brian said "oh we never get surprises". Huh I thought I guess the ones on his bed would prove him wrong. I listened to all the kids talk about their first day on the way home and knew that it had been a GREAT day!
When Brian walked into his room he was so excited and started saying sorry mom I did not know you had gotten me something, that is right always keep them on their toes!!
When Aubrie finally got home she was super excited about her locker stuff and was already telling me where it would go in her locker and what it would hold!!

Second Grade

Aubrie was gone and it was time to wait to wake up Brian who I knew would not be happy to get up but he surprised me! He was up and ready to go. Brian is so excited to start this year his friend Conner is in his class and Conner's mom is their teacher.
While we were waiting to take our pictures with the boys which seems so strange not to have Aubrie towering in with them. Brian and I were talking about school he said that he is sad that his sister will not be there with him this year. He said that he will miss her and it stinks that she had to get older. I can not agree more!

Soon the boys were outside and we were snapping away. It has gone so fast, first it was just Aubrie in the pictures then Andrew started school and then it was Brian and now after years of talking about what we would do with everyone at school the time is finally here. It went so fast and now before I know it Brian will be in Middle School....
We took lots of pictures like always and then we were off to get Paige and Holly. Had to take some pictures of the kids there too.. Holly took a picture of Brian and Paige and sent it to Dane with the caption "Future Mr and Mrs Robinette's first day of school".. He loved it and did not even see the caption until after I pointed it out to him.

We got to school and it was time to find their dots and get lined up. Brian found Conner and soon they were off to class ready to become second graders!!

First day of Middle School

Middle School here I come was Aubrie's attitude this morning. She has to get so early to leave with my mom I was worried that she would have a hard time getting up. She sprung right up and got dressed and was ready to go with time to spare before Grandma came.
We were waiting for Grandma and I was talking to Aubrie about what her first day and she FINALLY admitted that she was a little worried about not knowing anyone and that she did not know who she would sit next to at lunch. My heart sank a little, I have been stressed over this thought since we found out that she was going to my mom's school. I told her that it would be great and that she would make friends and would have someone to sit by at lunch.

Before I knew it Grandma was here and she was off to start a new chapter in her life. I can only hope that the day will be OK and that she will make friends and LOVE it!!! She has strict orders to call me when school gets out!!

* a little note about her first day,
She of course is fired for not calling me I had to track her down in Grandma's office to get all the details. Phew she made some friends and had someone to sit by at lunch. I was so happy to hear that she liked it and likes her school. Have to say that when I talked to mom earlier she had me a little worried when she told me that she had seen Aubrie and she looked overwhelmed. I was worried all day but I should have known that Aubrie would be OK!!!
She had also found her treat from Grandma but did not even open it until after school. She said that she did not have time to even open it, but she was excited to see her gift card and already knows what she wants to use it on!

Archeologist

The whole way home Brian who I thought would pass out was all talk! He was asking all sorts of questions like
"what would you do Dad if you could do anything"
"what was your favorite hotel you worked at Dad"
He asked Dane what would you do if you had all the money in the world, Dane's answer to that was "well I would have to give it to your mom since I always give her all my money".
Then he started talking about what he wants to do when he gets older. He listed all the things that it used to be a dirt bike rider, a monster truck driver...
Then he said he wanted to be an ophthalmologist. I said you want to be an eye doctor no mom he said a person who finds things in the dirt. I said oh you want to be an archeologist, yes that is it. He could not say it to save his life, he said a whole bunch of funny things and then said that is what I want to be even if I can not say it.
He had me and Dane rolling, so cute all the while Aubrie was in the far back seat passed out missing the fun.

Last swim of the summer

Rick and Lisa invited all over for a pool party!! The kids and even Dane and I were excited to see everyone and enjoy the water. When we got there the kids were in the house getting in their suits before I could set everything down. Of course they love Lisa's pool because she has goggles for everyone in many different color and shapes.

Gavin, Brook and Bryn got there a little bit after us and they were in the pool in seconds!!!

They swam and swam jumped off the diving board and even the dads got into the trick action and were trying to out do each other on their jumps!!
Aubrie and Emilie were having hand stand wars!! Emilie won them every time it was a little bit scary how long she could hold her breath underwater upside down for!!

They were all swimming when Brian remembered that my camera goes underwater so then it turned into a underwater camera shoot!! Everyone of the kids went down and had to have a picture and see it when they came up and Emilie and Lisa were the same way!!

It was a great way to end the summer !!! We said our goodbyes and before we were on the freeway Aubrie was out in the back seat, Brian on the other hand was a different story.....

Petra Celebration

As Dane and I am talking he is telling me where he worked and he said that village place that Bert and Rhonda like. Oh I said that is where we are going tonight! What are the odds......
We took the kids dropped them off at Holly's house, Aubrie and Cheyenne were in charge and it was the first time that Aubrie had a little bit of babysitter power. We told them we would not be super late and then Dane and Aaron starting telling them that they had better watch it because they had installed hidden cameras. Those kids were scoping every where asking me and Holly if they were telling the truth. We both smiled and told them act bad and see if they are there. HAHAAHA the same stuff that my parents used to pull, love it!!

We met up with Bert and Rhonda first then everyone started to come. We sat outside which thank goodness for mister is all I have to say!! The lights in the trees were amazing they were all different color and made it light up with out being too bright. It was a VERY hot day but with the mist it was bearable. Everyone was there and we had a great time hanging out with everyone!

The guys

The girls

Everyone

Around 10 we called it a night and headed home to check on the kids! They all had a great time and no one was crying or tattling so I guess we are good to go next time!

Know and See....

This afternoon was the Meet and Greet at Simmons. Even though we already know Brian's teacher we went to see his new class room and to drop off his supplies. It was so strange to only be visiting one class since Aubrie has been here for the last 6 years.
We went to room 64 and found Brian's desk and said Hello to Ms Blednick and then we were off to visit some of the old teacher that both of the kids have had over the years.
Then as we have done for the last couple of years we had lunch with Rhonda and the boys. Taco Bell was the spot this year and the kids sat at their own table and Rhonda and I sat alone. The whole time I could not help but think of how much the kids have grown up in the last couple of years and how FAST it has gone.

Welcome to school

My mom called me today and told me that she wanted to do something special for Aubrie in her locker for her first day of school. She could not decided exactly what to do but after a lot of pondering she picked a Starbucks card and some really cute magnets. I think that my mom is so EXCITED to have a side kick with her this year!!! They are truly so alike in so many ways and I know that Aubrie will love her surprise and be so happy that she can get her a banana coconut chocolate frap !!!

Baseball with conner!!

Brian missed practice on Saturday and he was bummed because Conner was going to be there. Tonight as soon as he saw conners car he was excited and out of the car as soon as I parked.
Brian is thrilled that Conner is on his team and said that it made practice that more fun!! I am glad that he and Conner have become so close since he will be in class and on his team!!!

Fire and chicken

Finally we started back to the camp and we well Aubrie spotted a helicopter with a water basket on it. Then as we got closer there was 5 firemen at the pond with their trucks. We found out that there was a fire and that the helicopter had gotten water from the pond three times before we got there!
It was coming back, it was really neat to see how the pilot could get the helicopter perfectly positioned to get the water quickly and fly off. Brian and Gavin loved it but were irritated because they could not ride their quads until the fireman were gone.

Before we left Dane had put his dutch oven in the oven because when they first got there the ranger saw the dutch oven and said that he could not do. Emilie wanted chicken so they figured out that they could fit it in the oven. Perfect timing when we got back it was time to eat! And of course it was YUMMY!!! Emilie tells Dane that it is the best chicken ever!! Wow that is quite the statement!

Fishin hole....

When Daniel got back from work the whole group jumped in the Rhinos and went over the fishing hole that we went to last year. It is so clear that you can see the fish on the bottom of the creek. When we got there Emilie threw some bread in the water to feed the fish that soon became a whole loaf according to Chuck and so the fish were not hungry anymore!! But they all got their poles ready and tried anyways.

There was this really cute bench that was put by the pond and so we got some pictures on it! While doing so my Hubby picked me a flower which I put behind my ear and the kids had to take a picture of us!

The kids were bored Aubrie was in the pond up to her thighs and wanted to get in all the way, so forget it there was not one bite! Chuck was so hot that he had to jump in after we all made him check his pockets he was diving in, well needless to say it is COLD !!!

I love this little spot, it has the coolest hidden places! Which are really not hidden you just have to walk around this giant bush and there they are. I love to walk behind with the kids and watch them explore. While everyone was sitting around chatting I took the kids to walk to around. We found some really cool places at the end of the lot.

Chuck and Dane took Brian and Gavin back to camp because they were convinced the fish were not biting and that it was a waste of time! As soon as they left Daniel started to pull the fish out of the water one right after another!!! I had to get pictures of it because they would never believe us any other way!!
