Back to School Night

Tonight the kids had back to school night they were so excited because Dad came. We stopped in Brian's room first. We had to sign in and then we had to complete a list of activities that his teacher had picked. Which included introducing his parents, showing an AB pattern on the carpet, showings us a wood activity and saying good bye to his teacher. For this Brian earned an extra three pennies!! Yippee he said no he can get a pencil on Thursday and not have to wait until Monday. It was so cute to see how excited he was to walk us around hid room and show us what he does everyday. His teacher said that he was so respectful and all the kids loved being around him. She said he was a pleasure to have in class. It really felt great to know that we have kids who love school and act right in class.

Next it was off to Aubrie's room. We ran into Kaitlyn and her family which was so exciting for Aubrie. We signed into her class room and found a list of activities again for us. Aubrie had to show us where she sat, the job board, she beat her dad in a math game, she showed us her owl pellets finds (yes owl poop) and then came the tape. They have been learning in class about thumbs and how they help you and they have been doing experiments to show the benefits of thumbs. So it was Dane and I's turn to be taped, you tape your thumb to your finger and then have to perform tasks. Dane had to roll a piece of paper and put a rubber band on it and put it in a bag and then undo it all. I had to cut a circle and pin it to the bulletin board, that one was hard just the pinning part. She then got to pick a piece of candy for completing her tasks, Mrs. Quackenbush also let Brian pick one.
The night was fun and I am glad that we went. Dane and I really enjoyed watching our kids get so excited about school. They were still talking about there classes all the way home.

First School Pictures...

Brian was so excited to get his pictures taken at school. He wanted to wear his favorite church shirt and he was so glad he told me that he got a haircut because as he put it he need a haircut really really bad!!! I think that it is so cute he is so excited to do everything about school!! He even told me that he would not get dirty so he would be a handsome boy in his pictures!!!
He is still loving school and has received a penny everyday that he has gone and he is so proud that his teacher always tells us how he is so good. After you get five pennies the teacher trades them out for special pencils, so far he has received a pencil every Monday!! YIPPEE ( he even gave one with stars on it to Aubrie, cuz he has too many and it was kinda girlie)

Cafe Rio.....

So the party continued for my birthday!!! My mom and sister took me to Cafe Rio for my Birthday which is really quite funny considering about 5 years ago we went to St George to see a play and have dinner for my birthday and I refused to eat there so my mom and sister went and dropped me and Donna off at Apples Bees. It was not my favorite thing then and I still do not love it as much as Aubrie, my mom and sister. I really LIKE the spicy shrimp tacos though.
After lunch we went back and had a little dessert and opened presents.
After that the kids and I and Dane went to Chuck and Ems for a little get together. The kids were excited to see everyone, they ran until the end. It was a nice night and we headed home.
It was a nice week long celebration for my birthday .

Fire Trucks...

Another Lowes Build and Grow. The kids got to stay the night at Grammas last night so I picked them up and we headed over to Lowes to build a fire truck. They were a little bummed because Gramma did not come and that the trucks were already painted red. We had a few mishaps but managed to build two fine trucks!! Now if i could just get there patches sown on we would be in business!!!

Girls night out..

So the girls took me out tonight for my birthday!! As always it was so much fun. We ate a GREAT dinner at On the Border, of course the big joke "I got Fish tacos". Yes every where we go I always get fish and it has become quite the inside joke with the girls.
After dinner we headed over to the Santa Fe for a nice game of bingo. It was a special session that lasted an hour and a half instead of just an hour. By the end we were all dying we were fighting to stay awake. We were the youngest people in there and we were all trying not to fall asleep i quess we do not have what it takes to hang with the seniors at bingo.
Thanks ladies for a great time and the gifts were great!!!

Finally......

today the weather was finally not scouring hot so the kids begged to play outside. I will never turn that down so they went right over to get their buddies to play with them. It was so funny to listen to them talking and laughing through the windows. Kids have so much fun to listen to when they have no idea you are listening to them. They were cracking each other up and running around being crazy!! As you can tell from the picture it was a fun and crazy afternoon after being cooped up for a long summer, bring on the cool weather we are ready!!!

Buses and Flowers

Today was a nice day, we had time to relax after the trip. Dane had taken the day off to get the truck into the shop and Brian had wanted to paint his school bus so bad so I pulled out the paint and he went to town. I think that the whole reason they love the Lowes build and grow so much is that they get to paint all their projects when they are done!!!
We were just hanging out realxing when the doorbell rang and it was flowers for me!! Yippee i love flowers, they were from Janice and dad Jerry! It was a nice thought it really brighten up my day!!
The card read I hope these make your weekend last a little a longer and it really did.

Sea Port Village and Hotel Del

We got up and had some breakfast and then we met up with Craig and Tandra and headed out to Sea Port Village. We walked around and looked at the shops and the amazing views of the bay. After we hit all the stores we went over the bridge to the best place in San Diego.... HOTEL DEL! I have loved this place since the first time my dad took Dane and I for the Sunday brunch years ago when he lived on the island.
We went in the hotel and shopped some more and then headed to the Beach. We all put our feet in and had a little cool down since we happened to visit in the middle of a heat wave.
After we spent the day shopping we headed back to the hotel, the boys went to check out the pool and of course play some chess, Tandra and I saw the perfect time to take a nap!! oh it was wonderful.
Then we went to Dinner at the Fish Market which is right next to the Midway and some really neat statues of World War II. We all had a great dinner and then we thought we would go to the Gas Lamp district after driving around looking for a parking spot for 20 minutes we decided that we would just go back to the Hotel and hang out. And you guessed it the boys played some more chess.

Sunday morning came way to early and we were off to home. We were right outside of Baker when Danes truck just stopped working it was great we had to call a tow truck and take a 96 mile tow truck ride home. I was expecting Dane to blow a gasket but he was OK and we the ride was an experience!! to say the least.
It was a great weekend and I could not think of three people I would have rather spent my birthday with ( well except for my kids).

31st Birthday in San Diego

When I got up the kids had made me the cutest birthday cards!! Brian said his was like Hawaii since that is my favorite place to go and Aubrie made me a really cute penguin one that she made her own with sayings and cute stickers. It was a great way to start my day!! Aubrie even gave me her special day crown to wear for the day!
This year I decided that we were going to go to San Diego for my birthday. I really wanted to do the dinner cruise and go to Sea Port Village and Hotel Del. We were joined by our friends Craig and Tandra. We dropped Brian off at preschool and headed out. We arrived in San Diego at our hotel and got ready for the Dinner Cruise!!
We got to the dock and signed in and boarded the boat. We were on one that we had never been on before, it was huge it had three levels it was a beautiful boat. The cruise started and we enjoyed a great dinner and fun company. Dane dedicated a song to me our " Hawaii song" and he had them announced my birthday to the ship , he always does stuff like that i think he knows it embarrasses me. We had so much fun, when we went close to Coronado we went out on the top deck and we looked for my Dads old apartment on the island. We enjoyed the light and the skyline.
It was a great way to celebrate my birthday.

One nation under God...

Brian brought home a paper for me the other day which said that the kids were practicing the pledge and after they could recite it with no mistakes and pronounce all the words properly they would receive a flag!!
Brian was so excited he had lots of practice between home and Ms Holly's. He told me on Wednesday after reciting it over and over again that he was ready. When i picked him up from school he was so excited to show me his flag. We had to call everyone so he could tell them.
I love that he loves school and id not embarrassed to get up in front of his class. That is defiantly his dads side. He took the challenge and got the prize.
Oh my baby is growing so fast....

Happy Birthday Lisa!!!

Tonight was Lisa's Birthday dinner!! Of course we went to PF Changs her favorite and we ordered lots of appetizers and split them all!! After that we went and played miniature golf at Kings Put. It is a indoor golf course that is all in black lights and everything including your ball and club glow. We had a great time and laughed a lot at ourselves!!! We were the oldest group in there and the loudest. I had a hole in one and won a free game at the end. Emilie won the game with Tosh trailing by only a few!!
It was a great night and I hope we have as much fun for my Birthday dinner in two weeks!!!

What a nice surprise

Tonight I started cooking dinner and Aubrie asked if she could help. I was trying to do 15 things at a time and she opted to peel the carrots and i let her. One less thing for me to do, i walked away to check on the laundry and she was chopping them.
After she was done with the carrots, Brian offered to help with setting the table and they did that with no FIGHTING!! It was so cute to watch them put everything were it goes and Brian was trying so hard to put everything in the right place. After that they asked if there was anything else for them to do. It was so nice to get help in the kitchen, Aubrie loves to cook and wants to help every night .My Grandma would be so proud of her.
Of course after that they went in and the real Robinette came out and we had a wrestling session before dinner.

Swimming and Rhino rides....

On Sunday we drove all afternoon looking for another lake to fish. We ended up looping around and came out right outside of Ely. So we stopped and tried Taco Time which everyone says is so good but it was just OK. We headed back to the kids favorite spot The Lake. They played around for a while and then it was time for the boys to take the kids on a Rhino ride to the top of the hill. They all bundled in warm clothing and set out for an adventure. They of course had a great time and came back telling us all about the trip.
After dinner they were so tired that they just wanted to watch a movie and go bed. Bryn decided that she wanted to sleep next to Brian so we moved Aubrie and let them fall asleep in different beds then when they were all passed out we moved them.
On Monday we had a great breakfast of doughnuts and it was off to home!!!
