Clam chowder and a movie

BEST clam chowder!!!
Some how Dane and I ended up kidless this evening so we decided to get a movie and eat some of the clam chowder that we brought back from Pismo! It was so good we were worried about how it would taste being frozen but it was just as good! We enjoyed some clam chowder and some yummy calamari!
Amazing enough we even both made it through the whole movie without passing out! It was a nice relaxing evening with not much going on!! We don't have very many of these so we have to enjoy them whenever they come!

Scorekeeping

The score keeping Bible

Tonight the Yankees had their second scrimmage game and it was my first time at having to keep score. OK so you think how hard can it be to keep score.... well let me tell you that it is INTENSE!!!!
Not only do  you have to keep score you have to keep track of where the players are on the field at all times(the team up to bat) and you have to keep track of where the ball is hit and where the kids are when they are when they get out, the pitch count for the pitcher (can not go past 75) and last but not least you have to keep track of the pitch count. Needless to say it is crazy and when you have people ask you questions it take you right off track and you will more then likely lose where you are! But at the end of the game I finally was in a grove.
The game was a lot of walking and not a lot of hits but it was fun to watch!! Brian was up to bat twice and walked once and got hit once! He did not even care he shook it off and took his base. He was bummed that he did not get to hit.
We won this one too! It was 9-4, we seem to have a pretty good team so we have an exciting season coming up!! Next scrimmage Saturday!

Scrimmage

Yankees had a scrimmage tonight and was I ever bummed I had to work and had to miss my first game ever. I have never ever missed a practice or a game but with the new position I have missed 2 practices.
When I got home Brian was still up and could not wait to tell me about his GREAT play. He got a low pop fly on third base to get the first out of the inning. He was so excited that he could not go to sleep. Dane was pretty much the same way he had to tell me the story at least 3 times! I wish I could have been there but with all the stories I got a great mental picture!
The Yankees won this one 10-6. Next scrimmage is on Thursday and I will be there for that one!!!

WHAT...

Tonight I had to work so I called the kids to see how the second day of school went. Aubrie said it was fine and she and Lauren already have their twin day out fits picked out. Then Brian got on the phone and I asked him how it went.
He got really quiet for a minute then said " I don't like my teacher" what I said what happened??? He was quiet again then said " she likes the RED SOX", oh brother I told him that his favorite teacher ever Mrs Messerli likes them too. He sat there for a minute then said OK I guess it is OK but she has bad taste in baseball. He really takes this whole rivalry thing so serious!!!

Her own what????

Aubrie has her own office at school, just one of the many perks of having your grandma work at your school. Since she has to go in early with my mom and the Academic superintendent does not want kids in the offices that early she was given her own office. She has a desk and everything she told me that she has things in the drawers already.
What a perk so now she has her own space to do her homework or any projects that she needs to work on. I know that she thinks it is pretty cool but she plays it off really well!

First day of Third Grade

Third grader

Ready to go cant even sit still for pictures
Brain was ready for school to start today! He was up early and kept asking me if it was time to go. Since school starts later and there is a new morning routine we get to leave 30 minutes later. He was super bummed about no recess in the morning, but then he realized that he can sleep in later and he seemed to be OK with it.
He picked his outfit out last night and loves his monkey shirt. Lunch packed and out the door, we parked and walked right in. He did not even want me to walk him into his class so there was a quick goodbye at the door and he was gone!
I am so glad that he was excited and not nervous at all. He knows his teacher and some kids in his class, so he is looking forward to having a great third grade year!

First day of 7th grade

so early

waiting for grandma and ready to be done with pictures
530 came so early this morning, but Aubrie was ready to go! She was up and ready to go super fast. She had everything ready and was telling me that we better get the pictures before Grandma comes.
I can not believe that she is already in her second year of Middle school. Unlike last year she was not nervous at all she was ready to see all of her friends! I am so glad that she is not nervous, last year I had a horrible day wondering if she was OK and if she had someone to sit by at lunch! This year it was not a big deal she is bummed that she doesn't have lunch with Lauren but they do have one class together which she is thrilled about.
We got some pictures and she was out the door with all of her stuff.

Back to school shopping

It has become a tradition that every year we go to the outlets with Grandma and Aunt Valerie for some back to school shopping and it has also become tradition for us to eat at the kids favorite place Sweet Tomatoes.
This year we started out at lunch which was FREE for Brian since he had gotten a FREE lunch ticket for being so good in class last year, yes it took me almost a year to get there so we could use it! We all enjoyed a nice lunch with our entertainment Brian.
Then it was off to the Outlets for some shopping! We found everything we were looking for and the kids are set for the new year! It was fun for all of us Valerie and I even got ourselves a nice little treat! Coach purses mine is my birthday present from my mom which made it even better!
Bring on the school year we are ready!

End of the summer swim party

under water

the kids
Emile and I thought that it would be fun to have a swim party before school started! We finally agreed on a date and headed over to her dads tonight!
We got pizza and all had a great time! The kids did not want to get out of the pool but after 4 hours of swimming we were all pretty beat and ready to go home!
I can not believe that Gavin starts kindergarten on Monday! It seems like he should still be in preschool! In fact this summer went so fast that I am still trying to figure out where it went!
The kids all said good bye and were almost asleep by the time we got home!!
Great way to end the summer!

Cheer practice!!!

Aubrie decided that she wanted to cheer again with the Fury since this season they are doing a competition and doing a performance at Opportunity Village. She is really happy that they are going to be doing some other things rather then just cheering at the games! Since she is not a football fan she does not get into the game at all!
Tonight was the first practice! We headed over to the practice while Dane and Brian stayed home! The girls picked up right where they left off and they were all excited to be cheering again!

Rain Rain

Today was a crazy weather day in Las Vegas! It rained almost all day and when the clouds finally cleared it was a beautiful night! I love the rain and wish I had been at home but I was at work so all I got to enjoy was wet floors and a leaking roof! Hopefully we will get some more days like this!

Bowling with the Dugans

A night of Bowling and dinner was on the agenda for the evening! We did not even think that on a Monday night we would have to wait to bowl but it was league night so we had to wait. Which was fine since we had planned on eating anyway! We ate some YUMMY fat burger and before we knew it we were getting paged that it was our turn.
Good thing we ate first because we ended up getting our second game free since we ate at the casino!! LOVE vegas they are always hooking us locals up!
We bowled our first game and realized that our score keeper was not keeping the score right but we thought we got it fixed but it was still screwing up on the second game! So Dane ended up getting us the whole night (bowling at least) for free!
It was so much fun and we all loved watching the kids bowl!!
Even better since it ended being a really cheap family night of fun!

Ice cream practice!

This is what practice consisted  of tonight! A little bit of baseball and a lot of ice cream time! Kinda of a waste for the parents but the kids loved it! I hope we are ready for our game that is coming so fast!
