This week is Spirit week at Ms Holly's!! Brian was so excited for today, he picked up his PJ's the night before and was thinking about all the ways he could make his hair crazy. Of course he hates getting up early to go to Ms holly's but today he did not mind, he hopped right out of bed and put on his jammies and went in the bathroom!!! He came out and wanted me to take a picture of his craziness as he put it!!

Easter Egg Party....

We had our annual Easter Egg dying party. The Dugans and the Mazlos came over for some playing, dinner and of course egg dying.
Everyone got here and we let the kids play outside for a while then we ate dinner. We had FREE pizza form Digornio that also came with Bread sticks and sauce, Amanda brought a really good salad and Emilie made the best dessert!! A pie that was two of my favorite things Peanut Butter and Cool Whip in a Oreo cookie crust. I could have eaten the whole thing good thing everyone else liked it.

I boiled 4 dozen eggs for everyone and the kids went through them faster then ever before!! They did all their and were ready to play again. I love that this is such a fun time for the kids I still remember dying eggs but what I really remember is the egg wraps my Favorite thing. My Mom gave me some that were from when I was kid Mickey Mouse and Friends. I love these and so does Emilie so were really excited almost as much as the kids to do them this year. We were having such a great time that the boys came in and joined in!!!

Monster Trucks

This year we got to the stadium and found our seats. Then it was my favorite part the singing of the National Anthem which I love because when it gets to the part of rockets red glare the thunder birds do a low fly by. I love it I think it is neat that they do that and you can see them so close and really it is just cool!!!
Brian and Gavin were so EXCITED, Brian could not wait for the show to begin. It started with a bang and then the races started. The races are fun but this year they were really exciting because the right hand side of the track kept catching the trucks and flipping them over very early. We got through all the races and the winner was Grave Digger one of Brian's favorites.

Then the Freestyle started and it was crazy!! The Escalade did really well the came Iron man who was a rookie and was in the lead until Monster Mutt (aubries fav) came out and went BIG!! It was a great run and he deserved to win which he did!!

Another great year at Monster Truck... see ya next year!

The Pits at Monster Truck

This year at Monster Truck we decided to do something different and go early and make a day of it. Emilie had the great idea to tail gate after we visited the pits. We all met at Chuck and Emilie's and headed over the the Pits.

All of the Monster Trucks were parked in the grass so we could get pictures and if you are a huge fan of the driver you can stand in line, THANK GOODNESS we are not because some of the lines were so long!!! We all saw our favorite trucks and posed for many pictures. The kids were so excited every time we went to the next one.

They even had a kids play area set up with a lot of bouncy houses. Emilie and I sat and let the guys chase all the kids around!! They had a great time on the giant slide! There was even a live band that was really good.

After we saw all the cars we went back to the trucks to have our tale gating party. We had a yummy dinner of hot dogs, chips and potatoe salad. The kids ran around for a while and then it was time to go and watch the races and our favorite the freestyle competition.

Xtreme ramp

The Extreme thing was today, Dane, Robb and Brian went down there before it started to see the finished project and to see if any of the riders were practicing. No one was there but they did some really good pictures of the finished project. I would say maybe next year they could see the competition but it will be Monster Trucks again, so once again he will build it but not get to see it put to use.....

Planet 51 and a Picnic

Tonight Brian was so excited to have a picnic in the family room and then he learned that uncle Robb and dad were going to join us. We made Pizza and bread sticks for dinner. Brian was so excited that he spread out the blanket by himself and carried the tray over to the blanket.
The guys got home and it was time to start the movie. We picked Planet 51 to watch for our entertainment. It was a really good movie or so I thought everyone. When I looked over to see how everyone like it all the boys were sleeping. So of course I took some pictures and carried Brian to bed.
What a fun time we had, Brian got up talking about it.

All shook up

Last year my mom bought Aubrie tickets to a play for her birthday!! They had such a great time that my mom did it again this year.
My mom came and got Aubrie right after school. They started their night shopping, then they went to dinner at Aubrie's favorite spot.....Cafe Rio. After dinner they headed to the play. This year it was All shock up which was all about 50's music. Aubrie said it was so good! She is so excited that next year it is my all time favorite musical "singing in the rain".
Then Aubrie got to spend the night and they went and did more shopping together. I have no idea where Aubrie got her love of shopping NOT FROM ME, that is for sure!!

Gold Medal!!!

Aubrie came home last month and said that she wanted to do this reading program where you can earn a gold medal. You have to start by reading 5 books to reach the bronze level then you have to read 5 more to reach silver. After you read the first ten you have to then read 10 more 100 pages or more. Aubrie read these 10 books in two weeks and came home with this certificate. She had read her 20 books in less then 2 months!! She loves reading and was so excited to do this that I did not even have to remind her to do it she was reminding me all the time to sign her paper.
I am so proud of her and how well she does in school.

Funtimes in class

Today I went to help in Brian's class!! I love it because I really like his teacher and we always have a good time laughing about crazy parents and their kids!!! She and Brian have a silly relationship and he loves school that much more because of her!!!
So Mrs Messerli and I decided to have me bring Popsicles for a fun Friday party before spring break. I got to class and she was said that a parent had brought cupcakes for Johns birthday and one gramma made cupcakes for a just because treat. We both though oh well lets give them all of it right before they go home!! And we did each kid got two cupcakes and a Popsicle!! It was fun to see the kids react to so much sweets, a lot of them did not eat all of it.
What a way to start spring Break!!!

Dinner with old friends...

Camille and Valerie have been friends for over 20 plus years. Camille was always around our house growing up and her family and ours were close friends!! The Liggetts had a kids the same ages as us , Brian was friends with Eric , Jamison was my friend, then there was Anna who was the cutest little girl we all loved playing with her.

Camille and her husband were coming into town to pick up Anna who was doing her student teaching in Las Vegas. We all met at On the Border and had a great dinner. We laughed at old stories about the old days and how we all used to do some crazy things. I love memories!!
Brian was quite smitten with Anna, he spent the whole night at the end of the table showing her pictures and telling her hid Knock Knock jokes. We ate a great dinner and sat around talking for a while after, it was sad not to have more time with them. They are off to pick up Anna's fiance to take him back to Colorado to meet the family. I can not believe that little Anna is old enough to get married makes me feel so old.

My hot dog has a first name!

The Oscar Mayer Wiener Mobil made a stop at our Albertsons today. So of course we had to take the kids to see it!! I picked up the kids and we met Rhonda, Evan, Andrew, Emilie and Gavin there. They were so excited to see Gavin that I wondered if the Wiener Mobile was going to get the same reaction.
It seemed so small but the guy told me that it was the biggest one they have ever had. I guess I remember it bigger because I was smaller. We all piled in and started to take pictures the kids thought it was so fun. They all played musical chairs inside and had to inspect every inch of the thing.

The kids got whistles and a really cute sticker. We took a group shot and then it was time to go home. I love doing things with the kids that I did when I was a kid!!

All done....

One step closer to the wonderful surprise!! We had such a great time making all of these! It was really fun to do a service project as a family! We hope that they bring some happiness to the kids that they reach.
I am so glad that the kids got to do this and did it with a smile on their faces!! There reward will be sweet at Disneyland but they also learned a lesson that it is fun to help others!!!

Working on the blankets

After a fun dinner out on the back patio we started the blankets. Everyone had to make their own (of course we helped the kids), Brian had the cutest fleece with little dogs on it!!! Aubrie had a really cute floral design on hers, Valerie had a really colorful print me and my mom had plain she had pink and I had sage green!!
My mom started to cut them and we got to tying the edges. I had to leave to go to a meeting at work, so they were all working when I left. Of course as you can see Aubrie never misses a minute to accessorize herself, she is wearing an Aubrie original made from a scrap of Valerie's blanket!! When the meeting was over I asked my mom if they were done and she said that they had stopped when I left. Great I thought we wanted to get them done as soon as possible!! But when I got there my mom and everyone laughed they were done with all but my moms and mine and Valerie's.
So i took mine and Valerie's home to tie them. We are almost done!! YIPPEE

Hugs...

Valerie, my Mom and I signed us up for Give a day get a day, which is where you give a day of service and you get a free day at Disneyland. So we decided to make blankets for terminally ill children. Valerie had this really cute idea of making heads and arms to give the blankets "hugs" from each of us.
The kids were excited to make there people, so we started before dinner and were done shortly there after!!! Brian did such a great job cuting his out and Aubrie was excited to make a flower for her hair. We all really got into making them. Aubrie wanted to know what we were doing this for and we were not telling her anything. We just told her it was a service project for sick kids. We are keeping it a secret until we get there. I am so EXCITED!!!!
