Channeling dad...

The other day Valerie asked me to come and look at a car with her! It was a crazy day with my house being filled to the brim with company. I got dinner all cooked got Brian all ready for a birthday party and was out the door. I asked if she was going to buy or if we were just looking.... Valerie everyone know is not a very good decision maker!! Not that she makes bad decisions she just has a hard time making them!
She had found a car online that she wanted to look at. I pulled into the parking lot and was cornered faster then I could get out of my car. He followed me to meet Valerie and found the car we wanted right away. Funny to me that I pulled up to a Ford dealership in a Chevy and we were there to look at Chevy!!
Valerie test drove the Malibu and then it was time to channel "dad". I told Valerie that we looked like life partners and I could not take over the process for her she would have to do it. Well we sat down and Jack started his I have no wiggle worm and blah blah, at that point I had to take over for her!! He thought he was so slick talking about how he had no wiggle room and he was going to do anything to sell her the car. We said 16500 he said 16900 I said "so 400 is keeping you from selling a car right now" OK how about we meet in the middle once again "so now 200 dollars is stopping you from selling us this car". When we got it down to the price we wanted we talked trade in and that was fair since she had some damage on her car and it was 12 years old.

Then after hearing for a long time that he did not do anything with the money end. He brought a paper to Valerie and said that she had such a great credit score she could get a 4.9 um lets try again Jack. He was tripping all over the fact that it was the end of the month and we could refinance if we wanted to later. I said we are good we will come tomorrow when you are willing to search out a better rate, oh hold on.... What do you know he came back with a 2.9%. Finally we went in to sign the paper work and the car was hers!!!!

Valerie got all the bells and whistles on her new car!! A bigger engine, blue tooth,all sorts of buttons that she is still figuring out and Brian's favorite thing about her car the push button start!! She was very sad to see her car go but I think she will love the new one!! probably not the car payment......

Hitch a ride to the park

Whenever Granny Goose comes she ends up taking the kids to the park at least once! They always walk to the one right by the house! I had to run to the store for a bday present for a party for Brian as I rounded the corner Aubrie was giving Raquel a piggy back ride.

They had a great time at the park and did not want to come home!!


Raquel looks thrilled to be there! I do not know if she was to happy about having her pictures taken orif she was just really tired!!

Surprise

Today Granny Goose and Grumpy came to see us!! They also brought Raquel (our niece). When they got here Dane was just getting home and she wanted to take a Rhino ride. Dane had just gotten back from a Dove hunting expo, so of course he complied and took her on a ride! I am not sure she was so thrilled with it she was holding on to Dane for dear life and did NOT want to go again!
The kids will be surprised when they see she came.

Today when I picked the kids up from school I told Brain that we had to clean his room and change the sheets for Granny Goose and Grumpy Bear who are coming on Friday. I laid down on the couch while he did his homework and before I knew it I was out. I slept for like 20 minutes (must have needed that) and in that time he had changed his sheets, made his bed, cleaned his room and vacuumed it all by himself. He was so excited to show me and I was so SURPRISED that he did it and even did it the right way! He told me that he had fun while he did. Sometimes I can not believe that in 2 months my baby will be 8. It has gone by so fast.....

Picture Day!

Today was picture day! Brian picked to wear his church shirt that he loves! We rushed to get him a hair cut yesterday and he told her how he wanted it! I want a 1.5 this time I do not like it long he said!!
I had to work so I dropped him off at Holly's and she sent me this picture! Love it these two have been friends since preschool and are so cute together! Holly always jokes about how they are the future Mr and Mrs Robinette.

Late night!

Man this was our first late game and it felt like it was so late!! I was so tired and I can only imagine how tired Brian was!! He pitched the last inning and throw quite a few strikes! Almost had a pop fly that hit him instead at least it was on his arm and not in the face!!
We grabbed snacks and hurried home where he passed out in seconds!

Aubrie has been saying "I like pie' to everything lately, she says it in a funny voice and makes a funny face. Well when Brian said it the other day she said that he was not allowed to say it and I told her that until she had a copyright to I like pie, he could say what ever he wanted.
So today after school she handed me this paper and said that she had written it all down and that he could not say anything on this list! Hahahaha funny girl she thought that if you wrote it down and said that he could not that he could not say it! I informed her that he could still say it and she said " but I copyrighted it".

Really ....

Today was a crazy day of running around!! After school we were off and had so much to do that I was dreading every minute of it and dreaming of bed every other minute!!
Brian and I were off the dentist and we were having a chat about school it went like this

Brian " Mom do you think the world is as normal as it will be"
Me "what do you mean normal?"
Brian " Normal like you know how when you were little and they had no TV"S and then they did"
Me "what are talking about I have had a TV my whole life "
Brian " oh I thought they were not around when you were little"
Me "Ummmmm"
Brian "OK so do you think so or not will there be new stuff when I have kids"
Me "yes Brian there will be new things, there are new things everyday"

I did not know wither to cry or laugh that he thinks that I am that OLD!!

I have to decorate

As I was decorating the house for Halloween the kids were busy decorating their rooms. Aubrie has a box in her room with all of her decorations for each holiday. Brian was bummed that he did not have any but he was thrilled when I gave him some that I had. They were busy decorating and even helping each other with out fighting!!

Hail Yes a Celebration

After Baseball we loaded up truck and headed up to Mount Charleston watching the clouds the whole way up!! We realized that we had not been up there in years, we used to come all the time when Aubrie was little and have BBQ's and take her on hikes, we also realized that Brian has only been up here once and he was so small he does not even remember it!!! The drive was short and we found the party spots fast and parked! There was a lot of familiar faces and some new ones but we were all there to celebrate Aaron's Birthday!!! We have been friends with for years (well since Brian was 3 and we met Holly at Sweet Pea) this was the first year that we were able to make it up for his birthday!!!

As soon as we got out of the car the kids were gone! They were exploring all over the place with each other. Brian and Aubrie knew everyone already from Ms Holly's house and school so that was nice for them no need for intro's just off to play!!!

Then the thunder and the rain came and it came fast and hard!! We were all scrambling to get a dry place under the easy ups!! It came down for a while then it stopped just as fast as it had started.

Dane just happened to walk past the Otero's tent and saw that they had left their windows down and the water had gotten in the tent. Since they were not there Holly and I decided to check it. While I was texting Rhonda Holly climbed in and zipped up the windows. As she was crawling back out she turned to zip up the door and the zipper was BROKEN!!! She was in a panic and yelled for Dane to come and fix it! He tried and tried for about 15 minutes he was in the tent and all we could see was his arm which was being cheered on by Holly! "Dane can fix anything just fix it Dane!"

Then he FIXED it !! Had to make Holly take the picture of Shame with the zipper!!


Soon it was time to cook and of course with the cooking came the bees which I guess had been a problem for them since they got there yesterday! Well Melinda had enough of the bees and took out her biggest cooking utensil and started to kill them one by one and she was getting everyone that she went after!! So now she will forever be known as the Professional Bee Killer!!


We had a little problem with some bad meat but Julio and Vanessa to the rescue! They had gotten enough food for everyone and shared it all with us!! Everyone was eating and chatting when the thunder started again!! Then the rain and the hail started to come down and this time it was not letting up as quick as last time. We were all huddled under the easy ups trying to stay dry. After a while it let up and we were free to move from the sardine experience we were all loving!
While we were all talking the kids got excited about a rainbow that had appeared in the sky! Brian had to run all the way to me to make sure I got a picture of it!!


While there was a break in the rain the kids got to make some smores and they were really having more fun burning the marshmallows and some how Holly put me in charge of the marshmallows so I was under attack until the thunder and lightening started again!! The lightening lit up the sky and the thunder was getting so loud and then it started to pour again and that was when we said goodbye to everyone and headed back to town where the weather was back to normal!
It was a great time with old friends and some new!!

Pitching is my favorite!!

Today with the Rain we were worried that they might call the game but one thing I have learned in my short baseball life is that it has to be REALLY bad for them to call the game!
We had an 1130 game and we were there right in the nick of time!! Yes I was running late that da, but he made it and was thrilled to find out that he was pitching again!!
He has the most unusual stance when he starts to throw the ball but Grandma and I think that it is GREAT!!! He has decided that his new favorite thing is pitching and he wants to practice with his dad all the time!!
He was thrilled also because Aunt Valerie came to watch his game! To quote him " it was about time that she came".
They did not win this one but it was OK with Brian he had a good game and had his Aunt watching him!!!

Angels vs Philles

Today we had another game!!
Baseball has become a great time in our house!
Every game day Brian is ready to go and we are ready to CHEER him on!
Brian had a great game and got a GREAT hit!!
It was right done the line to left field!!
He hit it the Ball to bring home two players and he made it to third base on his hit!!
He was so excited that he got to make it to home plate this game
THANKS to Conner who hit a great one to right field!!!

One more

Tonight was the last of the birthday celebrations for me!! My mom and sister took the kids to have some yummy dinner at one of my favorite places!! Five Guys and Fries, my kids love this place too so it was a great place to end my celebrations!
As soon as we walked in Brian was getting peanuts, he grabbed two trays one that was for the peanuts and one that was for the shells. He was so proud of himself because that was how Dane and him enjoyed them last time! After a LOT of peanuts our food came and it was great as always never been disappointed here!!!

After dinner we Valerie thought we should get some dessert. We headed to Dairy Queen but we could not make up our minds and when my kids were picking 9 dollars desserts we decided to try somewhere else. Not really into paying more for ice cream then dinner. We ended up at a Hawaiian Ice hut that we have always talked about trying! We enjoyed our treats in the back of the car and headed home!
It was a nice way to end a very busy day!!

Gooble Gooble

This kid cracks me up!! We dropped off Aubrie and Paige at tumbling and were off! First we went to Bob's and got a free drink and a free car wash, then he was telling me how boring driving around was so I said lets stop at Target and look at Halloween stuff! While we were there he found this hat and started posing for me!! He is the best date I have!!

Dinner at Mom's

Today our Sunday family dinner was my choice!!
I got there to find our Birthday Bouquet that has been a decoration for our birthdays for years! She made them a long time ago and our birthday dinners would not be the same without them!!
I had to chose what I wanted for dinner and I picked a BLT salad that was in the Food Network Magazine!! I really wanted shrimp but since Valerie and Aubrie don't like that I had to pick my second choose. My mom went all out, she made homemade croutons and homemade ranch!!! It was so good and the croutons are now a must when we have salads!!

For dessert she made a old family favorite! When we were kids she would make an angel food cake and a pink glaze frosting. We loved it and it sounded really good and easy!!! The kids loved and so did I!!!

It was a yummy dinner and dessert and made my birthday that more special!!

Pictures and a game

Today we had to get UP so early
and head to the park to have the pictures taken
for the team.
After the pictures Brian had a game
so the team went to practice before the game.
I had snacks so we had to give up our prime
parking spot and go and to get something that
Brian would approve of.
I got back in time to see the Angels up to bat in the first inning.
Brian got to bat once and he got on RBI!!!
He also pitched again which he really
LOVES!!!

Came home to

When we walked in to get Paige this is what Holly and I found, 3 passed out kids who were out for the count!! My house was not messy and it was still standing so I think that Aubrie did a good job!!!
Aubrie told me that she made 5 dollars from Chuck and Emilie! She wants to frame it I said that she should spend it!!! I think she is hooked!!!

A party for me!!

No one (except my Mom) has ever thrown a party for my Birthday! I was shocked when Holly said that she wanted to throw me one! She invited all of my friends that she knew and they were all there!! Chuck and Emilie came over to our house and we all headed over to the Gonazales house, we made it there right at Holly was getting back with the Pizza's. I was so thrilled when Emilie showed me what dessert she had brought!! RETRO bakery mini cupcakes, that is my favorite place for cupcakes!!
When we walked into the house it was decorated with balloons and banners. I was so touched that she had gone to all the trouble for me!! I opened my presents and loved all of them!! Then it was time to start the party!

The BEST cupcakes ever that everyone LOVED as much as I do!




It was a great time and around 8:30 Dane walked all the kids to our house so they could have a little party with out the parents! It was Aubrie's first time really Babysitting and I was sure that she would do great!!!
I had a great time with all my friends and feel so special to have a great group of friends to celebrate my birthday with!!


It has been years since I have had a serenade like that!! Thank goodness I only had 4 candles to blow out!! You know since I am so old do not know if I could have blown all 33 out! I enjoyed my Salted Carmel Crunch cupcake!!!


What a great night with everyone like always!! Around 12:00 we all walked back to our house to get Paige and to see if the kids had survived! We all hung out some more talking and laughing and then it was time to go in since we had early Baseball!!!
