Reading Week at School....

Reading week was this week and the school had a a fun week of things to do. Of course Aubrie was all about it!! Thursday was dress like a twin day, while Aubrie's whole class decided to all dress alike in either red or pink with spiky hair, I think that the spiky hair was for the boys but Aubrie talked to Valerie and they figured out a way to spike her hair also. So early Thursday morning Aubrie got up and used her home made hair spike and this is what she got. She poked a headband through a plastic cup and then wrapped her hair around it with rubber bands. She was so excited when I picked her up she was the only girl in her class to do and she was fine with it, so Dane on that one!!!!! She said that everyone was asking her how she did it!!!
So on today was career day!! Aubrie decided that she wanted to wear an apron because she wants to be a chef. So I let her borrow one of mine and she was thrilled!!! Her and Kaitlyn were both going to be chefs. At school that day they all got to meet different professionals, she got to meet air force pilots and a karate teacher.

Brian was stoked because they also got to meet people, his class met the karate guy and a doctor. The doctor handed out gloves and a hair net that they wear in surgery. As you can see he was really into the props that he got! That whole night he wore the gloves around the house!!
Next week they have so more activities planned and Aubrie is so excited!!!

Earth Day!!!

Earth day was celebrated a little late, due to the fact that Brian was sick all week and for the fact that it rained on Earth day!!!
After last year and how much fun we all had, Rhonda and I thought that we should keep the tradition this year. We really had no projects planned but then Rhonda came up the idea of letting them paint the bird feeders and also paint pots and plant some seeds!





We got all the paint in bowls and gave the kids the instructions on how to NOT mix the paint and it was on from there!!! Gavin was cute trying not to get any paint on himself, the other kids were going to town with all the colors. It did not take them that long to finish then it was time for photos!! After all the pictures I loaded up the paint again and it was time to paint the pots. They all got really creative with these and then it was time to let them dry in the sun. Which the kids were excited for, more time to play!!!




When the pots were all dry the kids all got their seeds and started to fill up their pots with dirt. They all placed there seeds in the pots and watered them. I heard them talking to each other later about how long it would take to see the sprouts. It was a great day and I know that the kids had great time. We cleaned up the dirt and enjoyed a nice dinner with Emilie and Gavin!! Then we all sat down and did not move till it was time to drag ourselves to bed ( had to carry Brian he was passed out).

Ice Cream and then Lunch...

After Lowes we were headed to Golden Spoon for FREE ice cream but when we got there a line was coming out of the door into the parking lot. Rhonda and her boys did not want to stand in line Aubrie and Brian were bummed but then we headed over to Albertsons and let them pick out there ice cream there. It was a huge surprise to the my kids that they were able to eat their ice cream before lunch. Yippee was the response I got from Brian.
After the ice cream they all started to play for a while, they were having a Just Dance session in front of Rhonda's house I could hear them dancing and laughing. Aubrie was trying to help Gavin ride a big boy scooter and before long he was on it riding like a pro!!

Soon after that they were all so hungry so Rhonda and I let them have a picnic of hot dogs, pickles and chips on my front porch. Then Rhonda bought out some cookies for them, funny thing they all pretty much left their cookies on the plates for later. WOW i would have eaten it first~~

Lowes with all the kids!!!

Today Dane and Chuck decided to go and be manly in Pahrump shooting things, so I volunteered to watch Gavin. He is such a good kid I was really kinda of excited and so were my kids!!! Gavin got here just in time to go to Lowes and build a bird feeder!! We all loaded up in the car and we were off. We met Rhonda and the boys there, we found our spot and got the kits. Brian and me are always a team but today he said that he could do it himself so I could help Gavin. Gavin was so cute he helped hammer and find pieces and even got me the right size nails!!! It was such a fun time and this one was not too hard so that was even better. We were all done around the same time so we took the kids inside to pick there seeds that they wanted to plant in the pots that they were going to paint as an Earth day project. Aubrie picked wildflowers and both boys picked watermelons!!!

I am Free!!!

This week Brian got a really bad fever and he said his throat hurt, so after two days of not feeling so well I took him to the doctors office. While we were there Brian showed me some dots that were on his hands and feet, I thought huh that is weird so I mentioned them to the doctor and he looked in Brian's throat and said right away that he had Hand Foot and Mouth disease. WHAT, OK first of all that sounds horrible and dirty. Poor little guy had blisters all down his throat, there is no medicine for it the only thing you can do it drink Maalox and take pain medicine. So after the doctor we went to the store and got all the medicine and headed home. He had to stay home until Friday.
Finally on Friday he got to return to school he was so excited!! He really missed his teacher and his class. So he practically jumped out of the car when we go there. While he was at school I got a call from the nurse that Brian had come to her office, great I thought it has come back. She said that he looked pale and they thought he had a fever but he stayed there for 20 minutes and then returned to class. After school Rhonda and I let the kids play outside, Brian was so excited he had told me a couple times during the week that he really missed Evan. They all ended up in the house and were playing the Wii. It was so fun to listen to them laughing and having a good time. After a while Brian was tired and started to look pale, so i told him to lie down. He was so tired he passed out on the couch.

Tooth loss

While at Grammas house Aubrie had a tooth that was just clinging to a thread and she was complaining about how it hurt. So after probably hours of whining about it my mom told Aubrie to get her a paper towel so she could pull it out. Gramma said that as soon as she touched the tooth it almost fell right out. Aubrie was so excited to put the tooth under her pillow, but oh that stinking tooth fairy must have been sick because she forgot to come. Aubrie was crushed then when she looked at her tooth in her bag she saw that it was broken in half, Dane told her that maybe that was why the tooth fairy did not come. I told her not to worry and to put it under her pillow again. So she did and thank goodness the tooth fairy visited that night!!

Cake please...

Since Dane's family was in town on Aubrie's birthday, Gramma asked Aubrie what she wanted for dinner on Sunday. She always makes their favorite dinner on Sundays for their birthday. Aubrie did not have to think long, Frito Pie was her answer. Then she looked at me and asked for a chocolate cake with chocolate frosting, which is my favorite too only because I love homemade frosting (grandma stuckis recipe). I had taken Sunday off already so I thought I would make the cake that day and we could all have a nice dinner and Yummy cake to celebrate one more time... but life never goes the way you plan. Brian got really sick and had to come home form church. So Aubrie had to have a special dinner with her gramma and aunt Valerie. They had a great time and Aubrie loved that they had a girls dinner. Gramma had even gotten her special place mats and plates!!! It was a great way to end the birthday celebrations!!!

Finally Surprise!!!!

For weeks I have to keep the biggest secert from Rhonda, oh was that hard!!!
So of course when Bert asked me to make the invitation for Rhonda's surprise party I was on it!! I went to the best invite maker ever KYLIE!!! After many tries we finally came up with this one I love it, it was the perfect one for Rhonda. These were her color choices for her party, yes she dropped mad hints to everyone!
!
So the dinner last weekend was just a way to get her to stop pressing the issue. She was quite the nosy one with everyone about Bert was doing. So her and Noelle planned a "night out", we all knew that we would not be going out but we all acted like it was the plan.

Rhonda, Bert and the boys came over to our house and we all piled in the car and headed to "drop the boys" off. Bert rushed Rhonda to the front door and to her total Surprise it was a Surprise party in her honor. The decorations were perfect they did such a great job! It was a great night of yummy food and dancing, we had a great time and wow was she surprised!! We had quite the fun celebrating Rhonda's birthday for the whole month!!!


Everyone left pretty early so after the place was clean and Rhonda's mom was done with us partiers we headed home. Dane passed out in the car so I left him in the car and went to Rhonda's house to hang out. We had a late night run to Robertos for Yummy nachos.

Another one gone....

Tonight at Aubrie's BBQ, Rhonda and I were in the kitchen eating our dinner in peace. When the front door flew open and in came Brian. "MOM, my tooth pull it out, hurry pull it out". At that moment I had a bit of rib in my mouth and almost lost my whole dinner. Thank goodness Bert walked in, I handed him the paper towel and he pulled it right out.
Most kids are so scared to have their teeth pulled out not Brian he is like do it just do it. Yuck, teeth are not my strongest mom area. So he was convinced the Tooth Fairy would be bringing him five dollars, sorry captain I am thinking more like ONE!!!!

Aubrie's BBQ and Presents!!!

The second part of Aubrie's birthday request was to have a BBQ with the Oteros, Robb, Goose, Grumpy and us of course!! She also got to pick the menu which was chicken thighs, green salad of course cake!!! Bert and Rhonda brought some really yummy ribs and a green salad that was so good!!! The kids had a great time playing around outside and Aubrie and kaitlyn preformed a dancing number to Justin Beiber.



We all ate dinner then it was time to sing Happy Birthday to Aubrie~
She opened all her presents, she got some good ones. Really cute clothes(thanks Rhonda), a DS game, an art studio and Family Feud for the Wii!! Which she was really excited about she asked if we could play it that night, Dane who is just as obsessed as Aubrie said he could arrange that.Dane lit the candles, she got all the candles out in one blow and then we all had Strawberry Lemonade cake.

After all the guests had left it was time to play Family Feud. We picked to play boys against girls, of course how else would we play. Grumpy, Robb, Dane and Brian were on the boys team. Aubrie, Kaitlyn, Janice and I were on the girls team. We figured out to play and started the Family Feud. We played for quite a while and I have to say that the Girls dominated the game!! Yippee, Dane was crushed since he always gets all the number ones when we are watching the show.
