Make the team

Aubrie, Paige and Jayden started tried and new class today at VCA! It is the make the team class this one is more about teaching them the skills of cheer leading and helping them make the team if they try out at school! They learned two eight count routines that they worked on until they got it perfect!

After this class they had the regular tumbling class and they were tired when they were done! I asked Aubrie if she wanted to join the class and she was very quick to say YES!! She was so excited when she got home she showed Dane and Brian the moves she had learned!! So I am going to have a CHEERLEADER, wow that is one I did not see coming!!

Dane took the kids to Linda's house to swim! Since Jason and his mom are both moving to CA! The kids had so much fun but the dads let the kids do the sunscreen part and needless to say that ALL DAY IN THE SUN = SUNBURN!!!
The kids had a great time and are really sad to see their friends move!! Dane is really sad too that his hang out buddy is moving.......

Load up....

Last day, time to pack up and go to our creek to take our pictures!! We have done this so many times that the kids and guys know that they are to stand where ever they are told and smile and wait to see if it is a good one! Hahahahaha
We packed up camp had a little breakfast and headed down the dirt road to the creek.
Kinda of a bummer that they have changed the bridge so Dane was not able to take his shot that he has done since the second year we came! But we got some good ones and then it was time to get in the car and head into the heat box we call home! It was a great trip and we will all be here next year same time maybe different camp ground maybe not!!

This was Brian as soon as we hit the freeway and he never woke up until we were making the turn into the neighborhood !!

Windy Fishing

What a better way to start the day off then to have some of Rhonda famous omelets!!! The kids had their fancy hot cocoa and the adults had their caffeine fixes! Then the mom got to making these WONDERFUL things! Like always we fed the kids first and then the dad and then the moms get to sit and eat! Bonus this year no flies!! They were like always YUMMY!!

We got all the stuff together and we were off to Aspen Mirror to do some fishing with everyone! Unfortunately this year we must have brought the Vegas wind with us it was REALLY windy but the kids did not mind and they wanted to fish no matter what!
This year Aubrie was using a big pole and had no problems baiting it and casting it ! And she was good her casting was way out there and she loved every minute of it ! She even helped her brother without to much complaining!

Brian and Paige were a little bit of a different story I watched as they tired to cast but it was not working out for them! Soon they were just hanging out wondering what else we were going to be doing that day! And when could they go back and play in their fort??

After a while of no one getting a bit and two lost poles we were ready to head to our creek! I have no idea what the name of this creek is but it is ours when we come on this trip! Only once has there been anyone else there when we go. It is so nice and we all were ready to escape the wind for a while! The kids were bummed that the water was too COLD to swim this year but they forgot soon and were running around!

Of course the MOMARAZZI came out and we were snapping and posing everyone for the best shots we could think of ! The guys were not so thrilled but they were very willing as long as we did not take too many!!

The Couples!!

Dane and I! Andrew and Aubrie

All the kids!

The kids at this point were STARVING and we headed back to camp! Funny how when they got there they all wanted to play at the fort and not eat! As we were coming back from the creek Rhonda and the kids saw a deer that was so close to them! I could see the kids trying to sneak by it, it was not that scared but kept a safe distance! I sent Aubrie to get some pics and she did a great job!! Uncle Rob this one is for you!

We made a lunch of hot dogs and chips! The new camp site was higher in elevation and the adults were feeling it!! With the hike up the hill to go to the bathroom and the wind were not our usual self's! We all sat under the shade tent and talked and could not believe how we were all so tired so we blamed it on the elevation!!

With lunch all done I wanted to see what the kids had done to the fort! Well they had carried a LOT of fallen trees to make the walls and they had even used some fishing line they had found to booby trap the fort! They were quite proud of the fort!! After getting the tour we took a walk up to the camp entrance and of course had to take some photos along the way!!

The kids were good sports and we got some really good memories caught on our cameras!!

We all hung out and started dinner! After dinner Dane wanted to cook their catch from the day before. He did a great job and the kids well some of the kids helped him eat all of it!!

Another great day and we were all ready for bed!!

Te-Ah

I can not believe that it is already time to go to Utah for our 8th camp out, Our 7th with the Otero's and for the first time this year the Gonzales. The alarm went off at 345am and I was up packing the last minute things and taking a shower. We were on our way at 5am first thing was McDonalds for breakfast and then we were on the road.

It was smooth sailing until we had to pull over for a O/D light that was freaking out in the Otero's car. It was fine after that and we did not stop until Cedar. We got gas and made the last right hand turn. As we were driving we noticed how WET it was the streams were flowing and the road had given way to mud slides in a couple of area, and a lot of trees were down. To our surprise the first loop of Duck Creek was closed and the Camp ground was full. Panic came over me and we were trying to figure out what we were going to do. Thank goodness Dane asked the Camp host where else we could camp. She told us that there was 3 campgrounds near Navajo Lake. It was up the road a little bit and down a dirt road!!Dane was in the lead and i had to document this he was going under 20 miles an hour.

We went past the first two and we were not impressed. Then we came to Te-Ah campground. We drove around the two loops and agreed (well me and Rhonda) that number 9 was the spot. We all got out and picked our spots for our tents. Derrick, Christi and Hayden showed up and the kids were off on a hike with Christi. We got everything set up and got lunch made for everyone, the kids got back and everyone loaded into the cars. Everyone that is but the mom's who had to stay and get dinner started (even though that was hours away).

As we were sitting around doing a whole of nothing, well we were laughing at the Gonzales tent that was flopping in the wind. After a good laugh we decided to take a walk in the windy weather and see what was around our new campground!! We walked to the edge of Navajo lake and then decided to turn around because we had to have T Time!!!

While at the Bathroom I saw these signs and the BE QUIET one is my favorite!! I Love it since I am the 90 year old lady who is always saying to everyone BE QUIET!!! I think that I should have Rhonda make me one!!!

When they finally got back the kids were gone to explore. They were working on a fort and then they found a teeter totter that was made by a fallen tree. They had us come down and look at what they had been doing all day. Which of course then turned into a photo shoot!!

The beginning of their fort

The teeter totter!!

After a while it was time to make a YUMMY dinner of Carne asada!! Holly made a great rice and a spicy corn dish!! Before to long it was time to have SMORES!! This is one of the kids favorite things to do every year!! The moms enjoyed a spacial treat for ourselves that was a Reese's cup instead of Hershey chocolate. What a great taste treat!

The kids had a great time around the camp fire then it was time to hike up to bathroom and get all ready for bed. They were happy to go to bed! Brian told me that he could not wait to wake up and it would be tomorrow!
