Who said you could???

The kids really enjoyed having a day off of school together so they all begged to play outside together. I was fine with it since Dane was in the Garage working, Dane had come in to tell me he was running to store. So I opened the blinds and found 4 SOAKED kids. I asked them who told you that you could get wet. they all just stared at me with no reply. HUH no one could answer that one. Oh well I figured if they were being quiet and having fun who cares!!!

Family Root

When Dane and Robb went hunting last November, Robb found this root that he thought that Aubrie would love because it had grown around a white quartz rock that is in the middle of the root. Well Dane and the kids had been sanding it down and getting it smooth.
Dane had gone to a garage sale and found a wood burning kit and was so excited!! So today he spent almost the whole day in the garage burning our family into the wood. He even went and got stain and stained it. After a while he decided that he was going to burn every ones names in our family on it. He has made several phone calls to make sure he has the right spellings. He has burned a lot of names in it and I will post some pictures when he all done.

BBQ at the Oteros!!!

After a very early drive back to town this morning to get to work at 6, I got home and it was time to BBQ at the Otero's. Uncle Robb also came over to have some BBQ. We had burgers and onion rings and some other yummy sides. It was nice outside and we were all having fun.


Bert set up some games in the grass for everyone to play and Rhonda was having quite the time with the balls for one game. We were also listening to some old music and we were dancing around acting like youngsters!! The kids were also having fun running around like endless energy machines.



After a while the kids well Rhonda and Tasha wanted to play Just Dance. Well of course Dane being Dane came in talking mess about how he was the best. So he played the best and lost, I do have to give him credit he did good for his second time, but Rhonda beat him bad. We were all exhausted at the end of the night and we were glad to sleep in our own beds.

Fishing..

After the ride to Pahrump we ate a quick bite to eat and headed to Chuck's friends home. On the way there we saw a group of wild horses just eating some lunch on the side of the rode. The rhinos did not bother them at all. We got to the house and they showed us their home that they have done some really cool stuff to with recycled parts from an early settlers cabin. The view form their balcony was amazing!!!


Then Russ took us to the pond that was behind his house. You got see through the water and there were so many fish it was crazy. The kids got their poles in the water and started to fish. Of course as always Aubrie got the first fish, this hole was really good to Dane also he was reeling them in one after another. Aubrie was really brave this time she was putting her own worms on the hooks and even pulling the hooks out the fish after she and Brian caught the little ones. She was a lot braver then her mom ever was at that age, in fact I still stick to the power bait just so I do not have to touch worms.

Chuck pulled some in and then Brian caught the biggest one and after receiving a lesson on gutting Chuck decided he wanted to gut Brian's. He got that fish in his hands and was about to start when it fly out of his hands and back in the water. The fish was not doing so well you could see him in the pond, close to the end he was. So Chuck rolled up his pants and went in after him, after a couple minutes he got the fish. He walked around the pond and was about to start the gutting when the fish jumped out of his hands again and flew back in the water, we all watched Chuck dive head first after that fish he got him. He finally was able to gut the fish and we were ready to go back to camp.


When we got back we had a Yummy dinner of Carne Asada and then Chuck grilled up the fish. I have to say with a lack of ingredients the fish was great!!! Everyone had a little and then it was time to watch a movie and go to bed.

Wheelers pass and Pahrump

Today we all got up and had Emilie's famous Egg Burritos. My kids always talk about how good these things are and I can see why know I think that they were probably the best burros I have ever had!!!! With full bellies we all piled into the Rhinos all the kids were in Chucks rhino and me and dane were in ours we headed to Wheelers Pass. It was cold as we started but it got SO cold when we got closer to the top!! It was a really bumpy ride and I was so glad that I was not driving. We got to the top and were almost blown off the top it was so windy!!! We then all decided to take the back part of the trail to Pahrump.






There were many places to stop on the trail and we stopped at this historical spot where they used to make Silver. There were 3 huge Kilns that they used in the early 1900 to melt the ore and make silver. All except one were collapsed but one was still standing the kids had a good time reading about the history which was really crazy to think that long ago they were here in the same spot making huge fires to make silver.

On the road to Pahrump we all stopped and in the middle of the road slowly crossing was this little guy. All the kids looked at it and then we moved it off the road which he was not happy about. We all needed to gas up or so we thought so we went to Terribles and topped off and use the restroom and then it was on the road again. Gavin was so tired that he had passed out in his Mom's arms and slept through the whole stop.

Then it was time to head back, on the way back we stopped and everyone shot the guns for a minute. Chuck even got Emilie to shot the guns. Dane tried really hard but I was not in the mood. After everyone had their time with the guns we were back on the road.


Dane and I had to stop a couple of times and then we were in the back. So we decided to stop and take a couple of pictures of the two of us. It was a really fun trip that only took 5.5 hours and we were all ready for the next adventure!!!

Cold Creek

The Dugan family invited us to come camping with them this weekend in Cold Creek. We loaded up all the toys and headed only 45 minutes away to Cold Creek. I had never been and it was close so it would be OK for me to get to work on Sunday I would just leave on Saturday night and the kids and Dane would follow on Sunday. We got there and unloaded everything and of course Brian was on his Quad and ready to go. Gavin's Quad was not running so he hopped on Aubrie's and even though it was a little bog he rode better then I would have!!!


They rode for a while then the kids decided to go exploring while Brian rode his dirt bike. The other kids went and picked flowers for the mom's and they really smelled good.


Pretty soon it was time to come in and eat dinner and watch a movie. We watched cars but I do not think that anyone made it all the way through. We had a big day coming up and we were all so tired. Even Dane was in bed at the same time as the kids, which is a miracle in its own.

Lowes and some shopping

It was time to hit Lowes again this morning. The kids were excited to build a catapult so we got up and ate a quick bite and headed to lowes. We got there before Rhonda and the boys so we saved them a spot to build and we started to build the catapults. It went rather quickly and we were done. The kids played with them for a while and then we were headed home. Dane was outside cleaning the garage and Bert was doing yard work so Rhonda and I took advantage and went shopping.


We went straight for Shrimp tacos at Cafe Rio then he hit up Costco and then we decided that since we had no kids we would go and wander around Micheals and all the stores around that. We went into famous footwear and Rhonda tried on the ummmm craziest shoes yet. It was so funny we were laughing so hard in the middle of the store that I had to snap a picture!!!

After a fun time we headed home and then we left again to go to some stores later that afternoon. It has taken us a long time to take advantage of some well deserved mom time together!!! I have to say we are so lucky that we live next store to each other and that we have grown so close!! BNE!!!!
