Literacy Night

Literacy Night was tonight and of course Brian wanted to go! And so did Aubrie, to see her old teachers and see if any of her friends were there!
Brian took us to his pod and showed us everything that he did ! He was so proud of this peace sign that he did on the big bus as you first came in!!!

This is the poster that he and his friends worked on! As you can tell the subject was 1960 cars, Brian was talking all week about how cool the cars when then.
We saw his teacher and he stopped to play some sight word bingo!

He was the only boy at the table of ladies! He tied for blackout with his friend Riley! After the game we headed to see some of the kids past teachers and of course ended the night in Messerli's class room!! She is the one teacher that we have to see every time no matter what!
It was a quick hour and before we knew it we were grabbing dinner at Taco Bell and ready to get some sleep!!

pOpCoRn

 Activity Days just happened to fall the same night as Literacy night! So I dropped her off and went home to get ready then we headed to get her for Literacy Night.
She got in the car and was holding some popcorn that they had made! She went on and on about the popcorn and how it was fat free and so easy to make! She even shared with her brother but I knew not to make a big deal out of it!!
She has really enjoyed going to Activity Days soon though it will time to start going to Mutual and she is happy for that because then her and Morgan will be in the same class again!!!

Red, White and Blue

Brian all ready had a plan in mind for his car! He wanted to do USA themed car, he wanted to paint it Red, White and Blue. Dane found him so stickers that were all stars and stripes. As I was leaving to take Aubrie to Activity Day they were starting.
When I got home they were done, I was bummed that I had missed it but Dane was like I took some pictures for you!! He has been impressing me lately with the pictures!!!
So now they are done and all they to do it sticker it up!!

Hippie

Hippies have been the subject that Brian has taken from class the most this week. The have turned their pod into the 60's pod and he kept talking about he was going to make this head piece. I am not sure what you would call this but the whole class made one and he loves it!
He wants to wear it tonight to Literacy night but I am hoping that he forgets!!

Reading Week

Nevada Reading Week is here and Brian has the paper on the fridge so we do not forget!! Today was " Read my Shirt".

Pine Wood Derby

Finally after having the kit for three weeks, Dane and Brian got to work tonight on the pine wood derby car!! They had the shape drawn out for weeks, so tonight was the night to take  the block of wood and make it a car.

Brian got a lesson on how to saw on the line, but since it was clamped to the game box it was at a high angle and he could not get the pressure right so the saw was not sawing it was just going back and forth!! Then the power tools were brought out and they sanded it and Brian reminded Dane that he should be wearing safety goggles. Nice that the carpenter is being schooled by the little kid Ü

I even helped with the sanding but I was all over the sand paper and not the power tools. Brian was shocked that I knew how to do this kind of stuff, I told him that I took wood shop and did quite well!!
So after an hour and half we had a car!! One small detail was forgotten but I am sure it will be fine! Dane attached the wheels before we painted it but that will be OK!!!Tomorrow we paint!!

Never Have

It official we are a over scheduled over booked Family!!

Tonight was the start of what I like to call

NEVER HAVE a free minute again!!
And this is the beginning of what will last for many years!
I have to say it was so much more easier when they were
LITTLE!
Tonight after getting off of work
I had to rush to get dinner made
then we all ate
Aubrie got ready for Tumbling
Brian got ready for Baseball
With a quick kiss
I was out the door to pick up the other girls
and Dane was getting ready to leave for baseball.
The girls class starts at 6 and ends at 7
Baseball starts at 615 and ends at 730.
Oh fun fun!!
I figured out while I was driving to Baseball practice
that TUESDAY is now my
favorite day!!
We have nothing on this day and will probably
chance when games start.
So I can kiss my afternoons of peace and homework goodbye.
Crazy town here I come!

Cardboard, toothpicks and what

After school today Brian asked me if i had cardboard, straws and toothpicks? I asked him what are you going to do with that. He said I am going to build a car. We had an empty cereal box and straws and toothpicks. He got the sisicers and went to town, he had enough that he was going to make two! He got one done and cut out the other  stuff but by that time it was time to get ready for baseball practice! So he made one and was quite pleased with himself!

Mint Please

This is how you get your favorite ice cream at grandmas house! Brian asked for his favorite and she cut the carton down and gave it all to him! No wonder why he loves her so much!!

Pen pals

Every week this folder goes back and forth from Aunt Valerie's second grade class and Ms Blednick second grade class! My sister had this fun idea that since Brian was in second grade this year he should do pen pal letters with his class and her class!! She asked Ms Blednick at a baseball practice and she agreed that it would be fun!!
So now every other Friday Brian has a delivery for Valerie and then we pick them up from her the next Sunday! Brian has two since there is more kids in her class then Brian's. I have been in the class a couple of times when the kids are writing their letters and they are always excited about getting the next letter!

First Practice

The Giants had there first practice tonight!! Brian was asking all day what time it was and if it was time to go yet! He is so ready for the season to start!! He is happy that Conner and Brandon are on the team! It was a nice all day long then the sun went down and it got COLD and Windy!! We were all trying to say warm and were hoping time went fast!! It was a good practice and the boys all look good !! He left saying that he thinks that this will be a good team!

A fort

Since the kids were SO BORED this afternoon they asked if they could build a fort in Brian's room. I usually say no to these because something always gets broken or there is a HUGE mess to clean up. But what can I say I was OK with it today! I watched them carry every single blanket from the family room in the room.

It took them a long time in the room to make it but at the end it was the whole room. They were laying in the fort watching TV and playing games! Never was there a fight or argument, well that is until they had to take it down!!

Totinos

We were at Walmart today and we were just picking up a couple of things when we passed the freezer section and I saw Totinos pizzas!! I used to love these things when I was a kid, so I asked the kids if they wanted them for lunch. They both said well are they good? Are they good, I can not believe that they have never had these! So I let them both pick the one they wanted and we baked them as soon as we got home! And they were a hit so I guess that I can stock some in my freezer for some quick lunches or dinners!

Doughnuts

This morning I decided that we should use the free doughnut coupons that have been in my purse FOREVER! So we got ready and headed to Krispy Kreme. When we got there the machine was broken and they only had 6 kinds of doughnuts the kids were bummed that they did not have glazed but they found some that were OK. Then I realized that the coupons were expired but since they were so dead and the machine was broken they let me use them anyways! So we left with our doughnuts and of course hats!!!

Filthy kid

Once again we had the same conversation when Brian came in from playing outside. He was not dirty and he did not need to take a shower. I think that he tries really hard to get super dirty so I can tell him to get in the shower and he can tell me that he is not that dirty!!  I think that if he could play all day every day he would!!

Catch up

Donna came into town today and we had so much fun! We can not remember how long it has been but it has been way to LONG!!! We used to dream of the days when the kids had all day school all of them but now she had to ruin it by working. We hardly get to see each other mostly when he kids come in town for sporting events!

We talked and laughed for the whole day and then we both laughed as we remembered my birthday years ago when we (my mom, sister, Donna, Jenn and me) went to Utah to see a play at Tuachan and my Mom and sister wanted to go to Cafe Rio and how I hated it and we ended up at Applebees. So funny that now every time she comes her we are usually there eating!!
 The next time we will probably be going to Ashley graduation, my gosh where did the time go?? 

Semi Finals

No she did not win but she was in the semi finals and that is a big thing!!! The finalists were 5 kids from the WHOLE 6th grade! They all had to take a test and then the kids with the best scores were in the finals!! She really wanted to win the Kindle but there is always next year!!! Congrats on getting to the semi finals!!!

Look at

what Dad can do!! Brian was telling me this as Dane was riding his bike. Brian told me that Dane could do Wheelies and keep it going, I told him no he cant! Well then he did it not just once but twice.

I told him that was great but the last thing we need is a injured dad !! He did a couple more tricks and then he was done!! He got his bike repaired so he can ride with the kids, so now I know that everyday Brian will be asking him to go around the block.

New Bike

Brian got a new bike! He was so happy when Dane brought it home for him! He has been asking for a BMX bike for a while! So here it is a Ryan Nyquist bike and he loves it!!! He was on it all day and told me that he can not wait to start doing tricks on it!! I can wait after seeing some bad injuries on these bikes I hope it is a long while!!!

Nice weather

The weather was so nice and the kids had the day off of school so where were they OUTSIDE!!! Brian has been wanting to play with anyone outside for days! So I am sure that he was stoked that the Andrew and Evan could play outside too!!

They played outside until it was dinner time! I had two exhausted dirty kids on my hands!!! Brian tried to tell me that he was not that dirty and I told him to go and wash the non existent dirt off his filthy face!! I hope that the weather stays nice for a while so Brian and the boys can run and use all their energy!! He told me that he was so glad that he got to play outside today so basically it was the best day this year so far!! He kills me everyday is the best day of the his life.

Brian....

As I was going through my pictures today and trying to organize them I was flipping through them, trying to get each one in the right order. When I came across this one that made me stop and take a double take. Brian looks so much like my brother in this picture. I think that he does look a like him but sometimes I wonder if that is just me trying to make a connection, just to have the link between them.
It has been 9 and a half years since I saw Brian and it is funny how he still comes into my mind and I am glad that I have a little boy in my life who reminds me of him in more then just looks! It is funny how some things happen!

They are Married!!

Finally these two tied the knot!! They did it right and went to Jamaica to tie the knot and then they came back after the weddingmoon was over. To have a party for all of their friends to celebrate their happiness!! I have to say that since we have met Craig so long ago he has never been happier in his life! Tandra was a keeper from the first time I met her!! She is a good match for Craig and he is her match too!!!

 There was Dancing and more Dancing the D.J crew was AMAZING and had us all moving and shaking at one point during the night!! The food was AMAZING too but since they have their own personal cater it always is!! Man all I have to say is the red beans and rice was the best!!! 

Dane had to do his usual special request with Tandra!! Ever since our San Diego Dane has to request Bernadette by the Four tops and they have to dance together!! This time the DJ called me and Craig out to join them on the dance floor!!

 It was a great time, I have to say that it was weird when I asked Craig where his wife was. I had to stop and think about it!! The night was perfect to celebrate them, FUN and more FUN!!
Hope that married life treats them well.

Till we met again

is what keeps most of going in rough times.
Today was Cheryl's funeral. What can you say about funerals, you use almost every emotion that you can think of. She was such a happy person who was always smiling and making sure that everyone was taken care of. She never ever thought twice of helping those in need, even if it meant that she would go without.
When we met her family they asked how I knew her and I said that she watched the kids and they asked the kids names and I would say Aubrie and Brian and everyone of them instantly said "Robinette". I was surprised to know that they had been a part of her journals that she kept all the years.
I know that she is happier now, I just wish that death was not so hard for us here to deal with.
A wonderful solo of her favorite song was song and it captured the mood that everyone was feeling....

Giants

We got the call today and we are the Giants!! Brian was bummed that they were not the Yankees but he said that as long as they are not the Red Sox he is OK with it!! Lets hope that this season is better then Fall Ball!!!

Not enough

While Aubrie was at her friends house, Brian got to go and spend sometime with Grandma. He asked her to take him Micheals so he could buy another kit to build something. 

Funny story that my Mom had to tell me about Brian and his money. They got to the store and he found this dragon and asked her how much it was. She told him that it was three dollars, when they got to the cash register he told my Mom that he did not have enough money. She was confused but helped him out. On their way out she asked him what happened to your money and he said I only had 2 one dollar bills and I did not want the lady to take my five or ten dollar bills.
He did not know that cashier gives you change, he thought that she would just keep the money so that is why he did not want to part with the other money!!

He had a great time with Grandma and was not ready to come home!!

Sleepover

Aubrie was invited to spend the night at her friends house. She wanted to so bad so when we finally said OK she could not wait to tell her friend. Even more exciting was that it was fry night at Laurens house! Her dad happens to be Aubrie favorite teacher Mr Petrosky. They have been hanging out almost every morning before school and after school too. They have so much fun together and all the Deans know them!!
I got a call when I was out that they had to give Aubrie some medicine because she was stuffy and her cheeks where red, I thought oh she will be so tired and they will not stay up too late. HAHA
Silly me, after driving to the end of the world on the other side of town, she was all TALK on the way home. She had so much to tell me it was SO fun and they stayed up until 230 and were up at 715.
It will be a lazy day for her I can tell she was zoning out in the car. I am glad that she had made a good friend that is there for the LONG days too!!

Blue and Gold Spirit

This is the last day of Aubrie "fun" week at school. It is spirit day and she is decked out in blue and gold! She had already planned that she was going to do with her nails weeks ago. So after dinner and the dishes we were ready to begin. The blue was so thin that it took 3 coats and that took a minute to dry. The gold was so fast and easy then she had to sit for a while to let them dry they were dry but since she was getting her feet rubbed she said that she had to let them dry more!! Hahahaha funny, funny!

Dinosaur

Tonight Brian came home from Boy Scouts and was amped to build this Dinosaur. He got all the pieces and was ready to start when he realized that he was missing the biggest piece. After a couple of phone calls we headed over to the Jenkins house and he looked all over the yard and then knock on the door and of course they had it!!
A quick trip home he was ready to build!

He did it all himself he did not want help from anyone. Dane tried and he said that he was trying to do it all by himself. After a little while and a jammies changed he was done.
