Trick Or Treating...

Halloween already??? The kids were so excited to go this year, and they were so excited to eat our traditional chili and mummy dogs. The kids were also excited because the Dugans were coming with us for the first time. As usual we went with the Otero family, my sister and this year my mom and Susan came with us. My mom does not think that the kids care if she comes but I think their quilt worked again because she showed up right in time to start the trick or treating. Dane got home from work just in time to join us too!!!
We had a LOT more people with us this year, Rhonda had invited her friends and their kids so there was like 25 adults and 7 kids this year we took up half the street!!!
We headed down the street to a house where they are all about Halloween. Every year they have a carnival for the kids with games and prizes the kids love it!!! We hit more houses this year then we ever had the kids never complained they wanted more and more candy. After we came back up our street we finally arrived home for chili which tasted so good!!!
I can not believe that it is already November almost and that means Christmas is around the corner........

Mummy dogs
They turned out cute and will go great with our traditional Chili we have every year. I can always remember my mom making Chili every year at Halloween and it has become a family tradition at my house too.
Carving Pumpkins...
o
The kids were so excited to carve pumpkins this year, Aubrie had already craved one at a church activity but she still wanted to carve another. Dane had to work this year so we were on our own. We usually do the book with the detailed pictures but this year we all decided just to carve our own faces. Thank goodness cuz i would have been carving three pumpkins.
This was the first year that Brian got to carve all by himself, he was excited to cut his own face. They hate the cleaning of the pumpkins, all I heard was YUCK GROSS, mom please clean mine. As we are cleaning them out Aubrie asked if I was going to save the seeds. Every year I save them and roast them, but no one EVER eats them so I did not do it this year. So they were bummed but they got over it.
We had so much fun, the kids were playing with the camera trying to take pictures there was a lot of laughter. I finished first then Brian and finally Aubrie the artist was done with hers. We of course took lots of pictures and then took them outside for display.
Brian's pumpkin was so cute he put eye brows on his and they were raised in the same way that he raises his. Aubrie made hers with a big smile and rosy checks.

headless horsemen and pizza
I planned a fun night of Jack-O-Lantern pizza and Ichabod Crane and the headless horsemen movie. After Miss Holly's we ran over to pick up the pizza, we hit up Albertsons for special drinks for the kids and yummy wings for mom and dad.
We got home and all of us got into our jammies and headed for the couch. I put the pizza in the oven, funny when we pulled it out it was a monster face. A huge air bubble had formed when it was baking and it looked like a monster not a Jack-O-Lantern but that did not stop us from eating it. It was yummy.
Then we turned on my favorite Halloween movie and watched it, I think the only who made it all the way through the movie was Aubrie. Brian and I were out for the count.
It was such a fun night, the kids were so excited and made me promise we could do it again soon.
Halloween Party ....
Today the kids were officially on track break and it was great timing Miss Holly was having a Halloween party for the kids. The night before the kids asked me to make a veggie tray for the party so I did and I added a little friend to make it spooky! I think it turned out really cute it was an idea off my Betty Crocker calender , so cute.
We shoved the costumes in a bag grabbed the veggies and headed out the door super early cuz I had to work. They were excited and when I picked them up the had lots of goodies to eat and play with. They said that it was so much fun and they had yummy food.
I am so glad that we found Miss Holly, she is wonderful and the kids love her, the funny thing is we ran into her on Halloween three years ago and she told us that she was opening her own daycare and she would love to have Brian come. I do not know how Brian will be next year when there is no Miss Holly's anymore it will be hard on him, but there is always track break...

Making Cupcakes..
Since the kids are going on track break and Brian's birthday falls in track break , he asked if we could make cupcakes early and take them to school the last day before track break. I said OK when i get home we will make them, nothing like making 32 cupcakes in a night and decorating them too. But to my surprise Brian wanted to help, he stirred, he even cleaned the bowl for me.
We got them all cooked and cooled we were going to do jack-o-lantern faces but it was not working so we turned them into spider webs. He was excited and we were ready for school.
In the morning I called to ask his teacher if she wanted juice or milk and she was not there her son was sick. So Brian was bummed he asked if we could make cupcakes after track break because he really wanted his teacher to have one. I smiled on the outside and said OK that is very nice of you Brian. Inside I was like really what am i going to do with 32 Halloween cupcakes GREAT!!!
Of course i am sure they will get eaten, but we will see how fast!!!

Goodbye to the kdis hello to ME time.....
Today I waved goodbye to the kids and Dane as they headed out to Arizona. Oh what ever will I do with myself???? They headed off around12 and I was relaxing moments later in a quiet house wondering what to do first.

Will I was having fun the kids were having fun with Goose. While Dane and Robb were hard at work doing stuff for dad Jerry.

Brians First School Pictures!!!!

So today I helped out in Brian's classroom. He was so excited but he tried to act cool in front of his friends! So his teacher put me to work first I had to put all the papers in the kids folders, she then handed me the school pictures and asked me to put them in the folders!!! I tried not to dig right in and find Brian's. Of course it was on the bottom it was so cute but it took all my will power not to tear open the envelope.
I had a great time with his teacher she is funny and I am glad that Brian is in her class. I hope to volunteer more through the year and Brian wants me to come because then he did no have to wait for me at the end of the day!! hahaha
As soon as we got in the car I opened the picture envelope and it was so cute. But my baby is not a baby anymore....... he looks so grown up.
Aubrie also got her pictures and I can not believe that she will be in fifth grade next year. Oh i am going to have a kid in middle school in two years.

Aubrie has a crush for a minute
Aubrie has been talking about this boy Conner for a little while. It just happens that he lives on the street behind us. So one day he was out on the corner and he waved at her, she was so excited she screamed and could not wait to tell Kaitlyn. This is so funny to me she is so boy crazy she seems so little oh well.
So today the kids were playing outside riding bikes and who rides by, oh my gosh Conner!! Aubrie was acting so dramatic. It was so funny i had to laugh, then I heard Conner say you like me don't you. Oh really so that was the end of me thinking he was a cute boy, a little cocky i thought. So he played outside with all the kids. I had Rhonda be sneaky about taking a picture but she was successful.
After all the kids came in Aubrie made an announcement that she did not like like Conner anymore she just liked him as a friend. She made this announcement at dinner and Dane was like who the heck is this Conner kid, Aubrie was like he is just a friend. hahaha

Happy Birthday Evan!!
Today was Evans 5Th Birthday party I can not believe how old these kids are getting. It seems like yesterday I had a little one and Evan had just came home from the hospital. Of course Rhonda went over the top as usual.
It was a pirate theme party, so we could dress up but we did not. It was a fun filled day with a treasure hunt and a bouncy house!!! And of course Linda made an amazing cake, and Rhonda made really cute cupcakes. They had a pinata and it went down quickly and all the kids were on the grass going mad dash for the candy.
It was a great time and I am glad that we have been there for everyone of his birthdays.
Happy birthday Evan!!!

Haunted Springs Preserve!!!
Tonight Emile invited our family to go to the Springs Preserve for the Haunted Preserve. The kids and I thought it would be so much fun so we got dad to go to!!(with a lot of kid quilt). The kids had to dress up in their costumes, so we had to rush and get Aubrie's. She has been bugging me to get her the ladybug costume at my work but I was secretly hoping that she would find something cuter but we did not. So she was an ladybug (grandmas favorite) and Brian was the Boney Jack Sparrow which was his costume from last year but if you know Brian he LOVES skeletons and that was he picked and with a lack of cute costumes this year at Disney I gave in.
We met the Dugans at the Preserve, Gavin was dressed in his costume a Dirt Bike Rider. He of course was a cutey and Aubrie was all over it. We got our tickets and started the Trick or Treating. The kids had certain spots they had to visit to get candy after we did all of them we headed over to the Haunted Hay Ride. Which was really corny but the kids loved it and Dane swears we were almost on Real TV when the horses had to turn around the whole stage almost tipped over. It was the scariest part of the ride that was for sure.
After that we let the kids play the carnival games. It was the usual carnival games, Aubrie had to hit at least half of them even though we were all STRAVING!!!
They came up to the one with the milk bottles stacked on each other, Aubrie went first she got the three bottles down with three balls. Brian went up for his turn and with one ball he knocked all of them off the counter. I think it was a proud Papa moment for Dane.
After the games we went and had dinner at the Islands it was good for some of us not so good for others but all in all it was a Really fun family night. Em and I already decided next year we will go without the dads.

Happy 30th Birthday Em!!
Tomorrow is Miss Emilie's 30th Birthday so as always the girls took her out to dinner and she chose to go bowling. We all met up at her house and we headed over to the Islands Burger. It was her first time going there and she was starving. We all looked at the menu and much to every ones surprise i did not get fish tacos i got a GREAT hula burger. After we all gorged ourselves with too many fries and burgers we all went outside for the longest photo shoot ever. We were laughing so hard that we could barley get a good one.
After that we headed to Bowling! It was cosmic and when we got there they were playing really good music which got us excited to bowl. Then as soon as we got ready it was crap music this always happens to us, oh well we had a a great time and the winner was..... (tosh)
