We were all ready for the season to begin we had well Dane had signed Brian up and we were wondering who his coach would be. Then Dane got a call that they wanted him to be a head coach. He told them that he would have to think about it since it is a lot of extra stuff to do and since I am working so much I am not going to be able to help a lot. He agreed and Brian was thrilled!!!!!!
Dane had to pick his team and since the Yankees were already chosen he was only given one instruction from Brian NO RED SOX or he will ask another coach to draft him. Hahahaha that kid and his DISLIKE of the Red Sox.
Dane picked the Arizona Diamondbacks. He called and told me that was his choice then he told me that he chose white pants. I almost fell out of my chair at work. WHO PICKS WHITE PANTS, dads do that is for sure, first the dirt is the red dirt like Utah red dirt it stains the boys gray pants I was having nightmares of trying to clean those. So after a little rant I asked him to please change them to gray which he did.
Dane is really excited and is looking forward to tryouts on Saturday!!!

Family history
Tonight my Uncle and Aunt
wanted to get to together for
dinner and to give us something
that they have been working on
for a while.
It was a complete history of my
Grandparents and the Staples
side of the family. They have spent so
much time on this and wanted to share it with
us. They gave us a thumb drive with all the info
on it.
We had a Yummy dinner at Cafe Rio and then
headed back to Mom's house to
look at what they were giving us.
There was so many pictures of my dad
that I have never seen and Larry had some really
great stories about a lot of the pictures!
He told us some things about my Grandpa that
I never knew, like how when he came
home from WW2 he had been on
rations for so long that he was
pretty much starved and when the war was over
they had to get all the soldiers home and they
were on boats for a month or longer and when
he got home it was Thanksgiving and all
he could eat ( or all his stomach could hold) was a
couple of peas and some mashed potatoes.
He not only came home dealing with
the starvation and the horror he saw in war
he came home to a 2 year old son he had never met.
Makes you think that what we have to
complain about is pretty lame compared to
what others have survived.
It was a fun night and hopefully
we can all start getting together more often.

Cheer Competition
We got up super early and headed across town to Desert Oasis High school where USA cheer was having a qualifying for nationals. Now we were not there to go to Nationals we were just there to get the experience.
We found the girls and they were off to start practicing. I found my seat twice( we the parents were on the wrong side) soon after we sat in the right spot the stunt divisions were competing. These girls were good and where doing some crazy stunts! Then it was the junior/ high school novice teams that were up. We were up next and the girls came on the mats and did their routine the best they have ever done it and they were so LOUD!!! That the crowd was really shouting back at them. They did great they were really excited as they were running off the mat!!
After they were up there was like a million more teams that went on, craziest part for sure was when one of the middle schools were doing a group back flip and one of the girls SNAPPED her arm in half below her elbow. She got up in shock and was looking for help. I was pretty far away from her, but the girls were right in front of her and they had a really close up view!
Finally it was time to hear how the girls did! They got first place in their division!!! They were stoked and you could see if from across the gym. After all the awards were given out and we had been there for 5.5 hours we were both ready to go home and veg on the couch!!!!
Found out that when Coach Holly got the score card for the girls they were only 3 points away from making Nationals. This is HUGE!! it was their first competition and unlike the other girls they practice only once a week not 5. And they were that close, that is a HUGE shout out to Holly and the coaching that she is doing! And the girls have really stepped it up, who knows maybe next year we will be going to DISNEYLAND for Nationals!!!
