Diner on the patio..

Tonight the weather was perfect so we decided we eat outside in the backyard!! The weather was beautiful and the food was yummy. We had hamburgers, corn and cabbage salad and for dessert fresh strawberries.
The kids love eating outside and I have the best memories of eating outside when I was a kid. We had a great dinner and a good chat about the days events. After dinner the kids helped with the dishes and kept playing outside.
It is nights like this that make me love the desert and the weather in the couple days of spring. I hope that we have lots more dinners outside this year!!!!

Look it is really growing!!!

On Earth day Brian was so excited to do another earth day project!! So i had found a little I grow plant at Micheals for a penny Ü. He planted it and has been watching it every day to see the progress of it. Well it has grown some really nice hair and Brian is proud of it!! He told me that he loves it because it has Mohawk. I think that he notices every new piece of grass that grows on it!!

A fun sunday at MoM's

Every Sunday we have a family dinner at my mom's house. We all go and have a good time eating yummy food and laughing at stories that we all tell about the week before.
This Sunday Brian was so excited to play the rhyming game that he has been doing at school. So we all took turns going around the table saying rhymes. Dane and Brian really got into and kept skipping people to say their fantastic rhymes.
After a great Thanksgiving dinner we all headed outside to enjoy the beautiful weather and have dessert. Dane and the kids were having a great time playing with the Hula Hoop. Dane is convinced that Aubrie has a special talent because she can run around the backyard while Hula Hooping. He was quite excited that he could Hula Hoop around his neck!!
It was such a fun night and we all really enjoy the times we spend together at Gramma Staples house!!
Even though we have lost a lot the last couple of years I truly am glad that we all have become so close and can enjoy our time together!!
Thanks mom for making Sunday dinners so special!! We all really appreciate them!!!!

Dinner and Bowling!!

Dane, Dean, Chuck, Rick,Barry, Tosh, Emilie, Lisa, Dawn and I all decided to have a date night out with each other. We all met up at Red Rock Casino and had a yummy dinner at Cabo Wabo. The chips and salsa were my favorite! After dinner we all decided to go cosmic bowling.
As we were walking to the lanes we passed Chuck Lidell in the hallway. It is so funny because these are the people that are always at our house for UFC fight nights. The guys were so excited they all told him he was the man and we headed to the lanes. We bowled two games, it was so much fun. Chuck, Dane and Rick were the top three on each game. I had a really good night for me and I am giving credit to the Wii for that.
It was a very interesting night, but this group can never go out with some stories to tell afterwards!!

Awards for Aubrie!!!!

Today Aubrie had an awards ceremony at school.When we got to her classroom her teacher had the class sing their hip hop multiplication tables. The kids were up dancing and singing their times tables, then it was time for her awards.
She received three awards
1. A honor roll
2. Exemplary Effort
3.Attendance
she was one of two kids to get the A honor roll. She has always gotten either A or A-B honor roll she loves school and her teacher tells me that she is excelling in all of her subjects.
Dane and I are so proud of her and I love that she has taken such an interest in math and reading. She loves going to the library and getting new books to read. She always finishes them quick and wants to check out some more!!!!!
Way to go Aubrie!!! We are so proud of you!!!

Elmo Live!!!!

Emilie and I took Brian and Gavin to Elmo Live today!!! Both of the boys had a great time!! Brian and I had been before but it was Gavin's first time. He was really into the show he was staring at the stage most of the time!!! Brian was into it also he was counting with the count and singing the songs. The highlight of the show was when Emilie went and bought the boys each their own Elmo balloon. Brian was so excited to show his dad his balloon. It was a very fun afternoon with the boys!!!!!

Aubrie and her Apron...

Tonight for dinner Aubrie really wanted to help make the pizzas. So I told her OK, then she took off down the hall and came running back with her apron that my mom made her for her birthday. She was so excited she told me take a picture so Grandma can see her in her apron.
So while she was making the pizzas I took some pictures. She loves everything my Mom gives I mean everything. Every piece of paper that my mom has ever given her is in her treasures box and she will be the first to say that she would rather go to Grandma no matter what we are doing.
It reminds me of how I felt about my Gramma when I was a kid. Grammas house was the best place in the world to be.......

Our earth day.......

Thanks to Rhonda we had some really fun things to do for Earth Day (we did it early because Rhonda had plan for Wednesday). Rhonda made the boys shirts for Earth Day and they each had their own sayings on the back, Brian's said Think Green. She made them bags with fun stuff in them.
We painted rocks into ladybugs, we did one for each member of our family. I made a family for me and then one for my mom for mom's day. ( everyone is their favorite color well except Dane because black is his favorite and that would not work). The boys also colored earth day ribbons and ate lunch together! It was a great day and we all had fun , Rhonda and I really enjoyed the nice weather and we had so much fun painting the rocks probably more fun then the kids!!!
I saved Aubrie rocks so she could paint them for her ladybugs and when she got home from school she painted them pink. She was more interested in playing outside with the boys then anything.

Fun time witth family.....

We had so much fun with Raquel, Goose and Grumpy this weekend!! The kids all played and had lots of fun. I think that Dane had a great time playing with Raquel. They were sitting on the couch and he let her put makeup on him and they sat there for the longest time playing with each other. Dane is such a softee when it comes to kids you would never know it but he does. Brian read his favorite book to Raquel and they were both so tired that they layed on the couch for a while staring off into space.
Then the Ice Cream came out and it was time to eat!!! The kids all had some ice cream and had lots of fun at the table laughing at themselves. It was a very fun weekend and they are excited for May to come so they can see everyone again!!!!

Dirt, Dirt and riding......

On Saturday Robb came over with his Quad and we all were headed to Nellis!! At the last minute Bert and the boys decided to go with us. We all loaded up and headed out. We got there and found a perfect spot for the kids to ride and we set up camp. While the guys were setting up the pop ups I took all the kids on Rhino rides! Raquel was first and she loved it she was yelling go go!! I took all of them around and then we let the kids ride the dirt bike and Quad. Dane took his mom and dad out on their first rides, he did not roll it so i think they liked it. Rob took the kids on his Quad and let Bert take his boys out on it. Dane's rides were the hit of the day everyone wanted to ride with Dane because he is crazy to quote Andrew. It was a great day except for the scare with Evan on the dirt bike. We headed home to Bar-b-Que for Robb and Aubrie's birthday!
We had a nice dinner and even had cake for Robb for his Birthday!!( Aubrie got here own cupcake too) The kids love that their uncle Robb comes over, The first thing that Brian said when he got up today was " is Robb here yet". Both of my kids have gotten so close to him and it is really nice to see how Dane and his older brother have become so close also. I know that Dane is glad that his brother lives so close(well kinda of) but he is really excited that he might be moving two minutes away from us.
