On the Road again...

It was our last day we were all ready to get home and relax and take a SHOWER!!! Dane woke us all up and we started to pack up everything, we always have a simple breakfast for the kids of muffins and fruit. They ate away while we all packed up.
Every year on the last day we head back to our swimming creek and take family pictures!! For the last 5 years we have taken a picture of Dane and the kids on a bridge where Dane stands on the sides and holds one kid up while the other is below. It started off with Aubrie in the air and Brian below but the last couple of years it has been Brian and Aubrie below. Dane always picks up Aubrie though and I hear HURRY UP. Well this year each kid wanted to be picked up so Dane picked up each kid and we got one of each of them in the air. Another one we have always taken is all the kids on the bridge. We all took some family pictures and were ready to go home.
I love this tradition and can not think of another family I would like to be in the Woods with. We have so much fun and the kids talk about it all year long!! can not wait for next year!! Rhonda and I already have some really cute ideas in our heads!!

Fishing and Swimming....

This year Aubrie had made a sign for our tent that we out in front of our tent!!

We all got up as soon as we saw light and started making our favorite Baggy Breakfast, which is omelets that you make in a Ziploc bag and boil them. It has become one of our favorite traditions every year ( thanks to Rhonda and the girl scouts). We all enjoyed our yummy breakfast and headed to our creek that we go to every year.

No one had to much luck all the fish were small and they were thrown back in the creek. We got a lot of great pictures and headed back to camp. We always stop at Ceder Breaks, and take family pictures. This year we did it quick because it said that we had to pay for the stop, we broke the rules and took the pictures and jumped back on the road.

We stopped and had lunch which also became a little dance session for the kids and dads. Then we all got in our cars but all the kids jumped in Danes truck and said can we ride with you?? Dane said of course and he turned on the music and we danced the whole way to the creek. Dane and Bert have been bringing the kids to this creek after fishing for the last two years. The kids all had their swimming suits on and we they were ready to go. This year even Evan and Brian got in and played unlike last year they thought it was too COLD. It was a warm day and we all braved the water a little bit more then others. The dads all got in and dunked themselves they were having so much fun they even gave the quad riders a little peek. It was so nice and the kids were enjoying themselves and then Andrew and Brian were pumped up enough that they even both went under the water completely, Aubrie wanted to but we had no way to dry her hair so she could not but she would have the first to do it!!! Rhonda and I even braved the water to our knees for a minute but it was cold.

We left and went back to have dinner and make smores!! The kids all loaded back in our truck and as we headed back to the road we saw a Doe that was standing there staring at us. It was exciting for the kids they were all talking about it the whole way back to camp. It was another early night for the kids and the adults stayed up and had a little bit of convo and headed to bed!!

5th annual campout...

A camping we will go!!! For the last 6 years we have been camping up in Duck Creek Utah for Fathers Day the last 5 we have gone with the Otero Family. It has become one of the highlights of our year!!! This year Uncle Robb joined us for the first time which ALL kids love Uncle Robb!!! so they were all really excited to have him there!
This year we got up early and left at the wee hours of the morning because a birdie told Dane that it was packed. Um so we all stopped for our McDonald's breakfast and we hit the road. We arrived and got all of tents up and everything unloaded just as we ( the moms) sat down, Dane looked up and said that storm is coming!!

Dane went over to the Davis camp and got us a covered spot while Bert, Rhonda and I put all of the stuff at our camp under cover. Just as we started to walk to the Davis is started to rain, then when we were all there it started to hail. It was a good 30 minute storm. It finally passed which gave the perfect excuse to make hot cocoa for the kids I enjoyed some myself. and Rhonda and I took the kids on a walk

. While we were gone the guys built the kids a swing.Rhonda even tried it out but Evan really wanted to swing so he tried to knock her off!!! Ü They swung on it for a while and then the guys rounded the kids up for the first fishin trip.

While they were gone Rhonda and I got everything ready and headed to store for the best ice cream treat i have ever had a twix ice cream bar(oh it is heaven). We made our way back to camp and sat the table chatting when it was attack of the chipmunks SERIOUSLY!! they came so close to us we could have touched them. There was one that kept trying to hide behind a little piece of grass.

They all got back and Aubrie had picked me flowers with was a nice accent for the table. We were enjoying the quiet when it was time to start dinner, we had burgers and dogs. And of course we had smores, the kids also all got new bug lanterns that were so cute. We all headed in early.
