DInner with the Dugans

Today Chuck and Dane drove to Oak Creek for a shooting kind of day! On there way home I called Emilie and invited her and Gavin over for dinner and to hang out for a while! Gavin brought his bike and man can he ride that bike like a mini bmx bike rider. He is fearless and was doing wheelies and hopping the curb like nobodies business. They all had so much fun running around bike riding and playing with the giant ball. We had a nice dinner and lots of fun with good friends!


So this picture makes me laugh because lately I have been watching a lot of ghost hunters and I wonder is that white dot a spot on my lens or an orb and if it is an orb is my street haunted hahahaha!!!

In this picture i almost dropped my camera due to the fact that I told her to do a trick and this is what she did, wow OK great really not something you want to see your daughter doing!!

Aubrie's new do....

Aubrie CHOPPED her hair even more this time and it looks so cute!! She was not worried at all and I have to give her credit for having teh courage to chop it off!! She loves it and was so excited when it was done! I was a little worried about Danes reaction, he was shocked but I know that it was a struggle for him but he told her he liked it!! And she was happy about that and can not wait to show everyone!!

Hitting some balls

After I got home from work today Janice, Robb and I took the kids to the park to hit some balls around and have Brian get some more practice. He was hitting a lot of the balls and having a good time until he got hit with a ball right on the arm, then he was ready to head home. He is really enjoying the baseball thing I hope that he loves playing it as much as he does practicing!!!

Dinner and Games

Tonight the "men" got the barbecue ready and were ready to grill! Grumpy bought some yummy steaks and made the whole dinner which was great! Dane grilled the steaks to perfection which I have to say he almost always grills everything perfect!!!
While the men where getting dinner together Aubrie and Goose decided to play Aubrie's new game. They had a good time but I can not say the name of the game to save my life!!!


After dinner we all watched a movie this evening it was Brian's choice and we all watched the new Karate Kid. I like the old one way better but the kids like this one! It was a great night with the family!!

A true man.....

Today Brian became a man! He got his first pocket knife from Grumpy. Grumpy showed him all the bells and whistles and he was so happy. When Dane got his first one this Christmas from his sister he said that he had finally become a man. So Brian looked at his knife and said to Dane I am man now huh dad!!!

Signed up.....

This morning Janice and I headed over to the baseball field to sign Brian up for Baseball. While we got to stand in line the boys took Brian to the store to get all of his gear!! They got him cleats, a bat, batting helmet, baseballs and a cup. They had a great time with the boys and even got to have a manly breakfast together!!
Janice and I on the other hand had a long wait to register and then we headed over to have a YUMMY breakfast at the Original Pancake house. Breakfast was the highlight of the morning!!
When we got home the boys were already outside with Brian helping him with his skills!!




Brian is so excited to play a sport he has been asking to play baseball for a while now!! Now we are all signed up and waiting for the practice and game schedule!!

Writing Bootcamp

Aubrie spent the day at school on a SATURDAY!!! She was so excited to spend the day at writing workshop to help the kids get ready for the CRT's. She wrote a really good story about the real reason that you should make your bed. The highest scores you could get was a 5, she received a 4.5 and a 4. She loved the workshop and was so happy that she had chosen to do it. I am amazed everyday by her love of school!!!

Chirstmas in January.......

Tonight we had Christmas with Goose and Grumpy. The kids were so excited that I am surprised that we got through dinner before we opened gifts! The kids got what they had told Goose they wanted and Dane got a new jacket for work and I got a gift cert for a nice dinner with Dane.



The kids were excited to open everything and take it out of the packages and then we all decided to watch Nancy Drew, It was a really cute movie that everyone enjoyed. Dane was the only one who fell asleep but that was no surprise! Then it was off to bed for a eventful day tomorrow!!

Lunch with Tosh

happy Birthday Tosh!!
Today Emilie and I went to have lunch with Tosh for her Birthday! We had yummy Mexican food and lots of laughs!
In the middle of lunch I got a phone call from my mother in law saying that the alarm code I left them to get into the house did not work, in the background I hear the alarm going and then my other line beeped in and it was the alarm company. I gave them what I thought was not the right one, apparently the guy who set up my account put a different answer in the system. So I am sitting there telling the lady all my info and then she finally believed that I was me and finally they got the alarm turned off. What a story to tell, Tosh and Em where laughing at me the whole time.
It was a great lunch, i wish that we could all hang out together more but at least we have lunch!!

Chapter Book

Brian was so excited when he came home with this book it is his first chapter book. He read the whole thing in two days and has read it twice. He has read to everyone and is so excited to check out his next book. I can not believe that my little boy is reading chapter books, it seems like just yesterday he was having me read him " Puddle duck". Now he wants to read by himself in his room just like Aubrie. I hope that he has the love reading that I have, there is nothing better then reading a good book that you enjoy!

We have been finding this all around the house....
They are left by someone who is doing nice little tidbits of service for all of us.

Paper Airplanes.......

Today Brian came home from school and asked me if I knew how to make paper airplanes. I tried but it was a sad attempt and had like no fly time at all. It was really kind of sad!! So I told Brian to wait for his dad to come home and he would be able to help him. Dane barley got in the door before Brian was all over him. I was right he helped him make a jet that flew for a long time!!

I guess it it is a boy thing!!!

Coffee Cake.........

Tonight I had a new helper in the kitchen. He usually wants to play the Wii or play his DS but tonight he saw me start to pull stuff out and he wanted to help!! He said even though he does not like the Coffee Cake he would really like to make it with me!!



So he helped me crack eggs and add the buttermilk. He poured it in the dish and opened the oven for me.
It came out perfect and he was hoping to have some, so I cut him a small piece and he realized that it was still not his favorite!! But it was my favorite one ever since my Brian helped me make it!!

Anniversary Breakfast!!

This morning we have been married 12 years. I can not believe that we have come this far, sometimes it seems like it has been fast but sometimes it seems like we have been doing FOREVER. We slowly got out of bed and headed over to Emilie's bar to have breakfast with Barry and Dawn. I love going to have breakfast there not only do they have great food but the have the best bartender EVER!!! She makes the best lemon water ever, I know that sounds crazy but it is the truth.

We had a great time and then we were off to get the kids from Uncle Robbs house. It was a great weekend where we did a lot of nothing and ate lots of good food with good friends!!
Here is to the next 12 years!!

Time with Uncle Robb

So while we were having dinners and doing a whole lot of nothing the kids were having a great time with Uncle Robb!! They had a great dinner on Friday and watched some good TV according to Brian. They went on a hike and bike rides! They also got to spent there money that Uncle Robb had given them for Christmas! Brian bought a new remote control car and some batteries, Aubrie gave some of her money to Brian and saved the rest! I was so impressed that she was so willing to give him the extra money he needed and did not ask for it back!!


They had a great time and were sad to leave but he promised to have them over again!!

Anniversary weekend!!!!!

1st anniversary

12th anniversary

We have made it past 11 years this Sunday!! So we got lucky and had Uncle Robb take the kids to his house for the whole weekend and we were ready to CELEBRATE!!! We started on Friday as soon as we sent them off we headed over for an Early dinner at Chili's and then we rented a HORRIBLE movie !! So when the blockbuster kids tell you to put the movie back , um put the movie back!! It was the American and it was so bad that Dane was asleep by 715 and I turned it off and watched 4 weddings and then we were both in bed by 830!!
On Saturday we were up early and off running errands then we went to the Movies which is a rare occasion with Dane!! We say The Dilemma that was so funny and even Dane liked it ! So after the movie we went to dinner and we were joined by Craig and Tondra !! It was so much fun with lots of laughs. But once again we were in bed again early!!
We have both decided that we are the old married couple that we always said that we would never become! But really I am OK with it I love sleeping and hanging out at home, so I have embraced it with open arms!!!

It is OFFICAL!!

that I am getting OLD!!! My whole life I have never been able to sleep with socks on they always bugged me during the night! So lately my feet have been freezing at night so I got these really cozy socks for Christmas and I decided to try and sleep with them on. I slept so good that now I wearing the socks to bed every night! One more thing that has changed on my body since I have turned 30.......

Cici's Pizza Fundraiser...

Tonight the kids had a fundraiser for school that was at Cici's Pizza of course they were so excited then when they found out that we were going to be joined by Rhonda and the boys and Holly and Paige they were even more excited and I had to answer the what time and when are we going question a million times!!
Finally it was time to go and we all loaded up in the car and got there. I was glad to see that it was not super busy.

It worked out perfect the kids sat at their own table and the moms had their own! We enjoyed many kinds of pizza but everyone loved the mac and cheese pizza the most!!! The moms enjoyed the adult convo and the kids ate and ate then had some dessert and they were off to play games!


I could have stayed and talked to Holly and Rhonda forever but it was getting really close to bed time so we headed home and both kids were out like a light!!

Its magic

So Brian got this Magic Volcano from who knows where and has been bugging me every night for the last month to do! So finally tonight I gave in and we took it out and read the instructions only to find out that it took 3 days for the whole thing to be done. Brian thought this was a rip off and let me know it many times!! Nothing like some patience over here!

So we added the water and watched as the Volcano erupted in the container then we had to empty the water out and add more then the dinosaur started to appear!! He was so excited then he found out that the dinosaur did not come out of the container and once again he was irritated.
We changed the water one more time and then it was bed time .



Then when he got up he was excited to see that the dinosaur was growing. We watched it grow for 3 long days it got a little bigger and then it was done. We cut the plastic because he was convinced that it was a toy. WRONG it was a slimy weird thing that would not some out. So he threw it away and told me that he never wanted one of those again!!

Its snowing

This morning was the kids first day back to school after Christmas break and we woke up to snow. When we first got up it was not sticking but as the morning went on it was sticking and was covering everything in a white blanket.


As I drove the kids to school it was a very strange feeling driving in the snow storm. I mean we live in the dessert and it is snowing what are the odds. It snowed for a while and then it was over and by the time I picked the kids up from school all the snow was gone.
