Pedi's and Movie time

For the last couple of years the women have taken a day off the beach to get pedis and have some girl time. This year we did not know if we were going to do it but we did and I am glad we did. We had a great lunch, I am in heaven when we come here I love seafood and do not miss a chance to eat it here!!! This years group was Amanda, Emilie, Tosh, Kristy, Shauna and her friend and me. It was a good time and we all really enjoyed lunch then it was off for pedi's.

I tried to get a picture of every ones piggy's but all I could get was Emilie and my toes. My camera was on Twilight so it made our colors really crazy but oh well!!!

When we got back the kids were BORED, I have no idea how they could be but oh well. So they asked if they could watch a movie. It was just Aubrie and Gavin at first then it was everyone of the kids squeezed on to the smallest bunk bed ever. They were really enjoying it were not out of the trailer for the whole movie!!!

Swimming, Digging , Hanging out

We had our trailer delivered this morning and I spent a good portion of the day unpacking and getting it set up for the next week. While I was doing that Dane and the kids were down and at the water and having a great time!!!

They were in the water until they were prunes and then they got dressed and it was time to have fun in the sand. We were all enjoying the breeze and watching the kids dig.

I made lunch and caught this picture, which is one of my favorites because every time I look at it I can hear Brian and Dane talking about the people getting stuck and oh look at that and oh look at that!!

The guys built the fire pit and started the fire. Every one was hanging out by the warmth. Then before we knew it once again it was time for bed. The days go so quick when you are on vacation!!

The first two nights we had beautiful sunsets that of course I had to take many pictures of.

On the Road again....

We got up this morning at 230 and were on the road by 345 yes in the morning. It was fantastic!! (If there was a sarcastic font to write that in I would have). We caught up with the Dugans and the Mazlos in Baker and we were on the road for our annual Pismo trip.

This year the trip seemed to go really fast and it was so pretty outside!! The weather the whole way there was so nice we had our window down for a good portion of the trip. I love this drive it is so fun especially when we drive through the farm town, where we all try to guess what fruits and vegetables they are growing. Then before we knew it were getting off at Los Berros and we were minutes away from the Beach.
We got there and started down the beach as always in search of the best spot. Every year we have had great luck and always get a great spot at the end and CLOSE to the water. We were staying with Chuck and Emilie the first and last night so we had nothing to unpack so we let the kids go to the water and they were so excited to hit the waves.

We were all so tired and ready for bed pretty early and I am pretty sure that we were all out as soon as our heads hit the pillows!!!

Dane's birhtday

If you were to ask Dane how old he was he would tell you that he was 29 again for the third year in a row. But if you happen to ask in front of one of the kids they will yell out 31 before he can get out his FAKE age.
Last night we spent the evening at home and watched a movie and had some Robertos for dinner. Then Dane opened his cards from the kids and me. The kids out did themselves with the their art works.

Today we had a SPECIAL dinner at my Mom's house for Dane's birthday! He got his favorite Chubby Hubby ice cream and a chocolate turtle pie. We all sang him Happy Birthday and then we all ate the yummy dessert!! Happy Birthday Dane!! Can not believe that this is the 13th birthday we have celebrated of yours together!! We are getting older but I am glad we are doing it together!!

300 water balloons

As me and the kids were cleaning up the yard across the street, Rhonda was filling 300 water balloons. It was moving slow in the beginning but then she got her groove and soaking wet pants. She was done and to think we had bought 600 haahahaha. The weather and water were warm so in the middle of the balloons she had the kids layer ice cubes to help keep them cool oh and did it ever!!!

We gave the kids strict rules about only picking one up at a time and not hoarding them. So they all picked one up and it was on. Before we knew it we (the moms) were in the middle of the fight!! Andrew was attacking me from all sides , then came the really cold ones that had been CHILLED by the ice. It was so cold that it took your breath away for a minute, but it felt so good that we just kept at it!!!

The kids were chasing each other and striking each other with precision. It was so funny to hear them laughing and they laughed the hardest when they would get me or Rhonda.

After probably 5 minutes all the water balloons were gone and we were SOAKED!!! It was so fun and we all were ready to plan our next water balloon fight!!!

Helping others......

After Lowes while Rhonda was filling 300 water balloons the kids and I went over to help out our neighbors. Don has taken such good care of his yard, but while in Utah he fell and hurt himself so they could not make the trip to come home any time soon. And then they started getting letters from the Home Owners telling them to clean up the weeds or else.....
Don had asked if we knew anyone that he could hire and I said no but I know that we could do that for you. So I got all the kids to help and we had that yard cleaned up in no time at all. Andrew and Aubrie were the biggest helps they really enjoyed the garden tools and whacking the weeds. Evan and Brian were helping pick up and dispose of the weeds. It went really quick and before we knew it, it was time to play in the water!!!!!

UFO

Another Build and Grow at Lowes today!! It was a UFO with a blinky light, i got Brian's all done with him and then looked at Aubrie's and she had nailed it shut before she had put the light in it so she chucked it but of course had to save the light part!

The Otero's had joined us and we (the Moms) had decided to take the kids to use their free frostie coupon which then led to full on lurch with the free frosties. It was so yummy!!! The kids loved that they got to sit at their own table and we enjoyed the little bit of adult convo.

Dane's Surprise!!!!

So after years of Dane complaining that I have a birthday month and he gets nothing except for a trip to Pismo. I decided to throw him a surprise dinner with some friends. We were getting ready to do and in true Dane fashion he was giving me a hard time about how he would not have picked Shucks and that it was not even his birthday so why were we going... BLAH BLAH. We finally got out the door and headed to the restaurant. We walked in and I saw everyone in the back corner and started walking over to the table next to them. Of course Dane was in my ear why are we sitting here why don't we sit at the bar, then they all yelled SURPRISE!!!!!

He was surprised and had nothing to say. We all laughed about how he had acted and then we ordered SO MUCH yummy seafood and ate until we had to roll each other out of the booth. We took some pictures and called it a night. It was a great night, I really shocked Dane and I am glad that our friends could be there to celebrate his birthday with us.

A fun day in Kindergarten

Today Gramma got to come into Brians classroom and help. Well we really did not help I took pictures of Mrs. Messerli with each kid for a present she is givnig each kid, I love this one of the tow of them. After that was all done and we took the reshoots of some, we sat in the back of the room and chatted. Brian had picked Starbursts as the class treat, so I passed them out. Brian was so excited, Mrs Messerli had him introduce his Gramma to the class. She asked some questions and then it was on to school work. We stayed for most of the day and then I had to take Gramma home and pick the rest of the kids up from school. Brian told me that he thought it was so cool that his Gramma had come to his class and could she do it again next year.

Aubrie's haircut

Aubrie so badly wanted to get her hair cut short, well short for her. She really wanted an Aline hair cut but we knew that she would give her dad a heart attack if she stacked the back so she kept it longer in the back.
She told Margie what she wanted and sat back to see half of her hair chopped off.

It took a while but when they were all done Aubrie was good with it, or so she said after we both asked her many times. It looks so cute and she was thrilled with it. Until she got home and told me that she wanted it more angled and that she wanted to go back and have Margie cut it shorter. i could not figure out what the problem was and then she told me that her friend had just got her hair cut the same way and she did not want everyone to think that she had copied her. After that she loved it and her favorite part is that it takes not that long to blow dry it!!

In a blink of an eye

I can not believe that almost 9.5 years ago this was my little girl. She was such a good baby who was always smiling and always happy no matter what was going on. She was and is the light of her dads life and she has him WRAPPED around her little finger. Never did I ever imagine that it would go by so fast.
Today I was in the store and I had to pick her out deodorant. I was a little sad that it is here already. I have had to buy her a training bra already and now deodorant. She is so grown up, she does her own hair and has smelly girl lotion that she puts on every morning. And yes she has the same ATTITUDE that I had. I am in for a world of trouble.
She is still a good girl who gets straight A's every report card and loves to read and loves school. Next year is her last year of elementary school and before I know it she will be driving and dating. I can not believe it or do I want to. I am so proud of the girl that she is becoming I just wish it was not going so fast!!!

Wrestling anyone...

It is so hot outside that I think the kids are going stir crazy. They come home and do not even get to go outside and play. So when Dane came home today and laid on the floor it was on. He started tickling Brian and then Aubrie was in the air and then it was Brian. They were having so much fun messing around with Dad. After the wrestling stopped they all laid down and were just talking about their day. I went to take a picture and they all acted like they were sleeping!!! It is so hot outside that they were happy to have any bit of action, even it was just for a minute!!

Reading to Dad

Brian got home today and was so ready to read his book for homework. I was trying to get dinner going and I was trying to help him with the words. Dane got home and decided to have Brian read to him so I could get dinner done. Brian had never read to him before and he was doing a great job with the book. Dane and him finished the book and then they all sat on the couch and looked at their year books. I remember when Aubrie started to read and that seems like forever ago, I can not believe I am already here with Brian. Keep up the good work bubba.

Water again....

t

When I got home from work I was ready to see the kids and they were outside in their swimming suits getting ready to have some fun with the hose and Andrew and Evan. I heard them running around laughing and having a great time. It was great to have them home, the house was so quiet with them gone. After the water fight they came in and we had the hard decision of what to have for dinner. We got dinner and then it was time for bed since school starts again tomorrow.
